8 FEBRUARY 1980It is with great regret that I, Minister of Magic Millicent Bagnold, announce that earlier tonight night the village of Tinworth was attacked without remorse by dark wizards. It is our understanding that the attack was perpetrated by He Who Must Not Be Named.
On behalf of the entire Ministry, our heartfelt sympathies go out for the victims and families of this tragedy. This violent night has left a mark on our society that will not be forgotten. It will not be forgiven.
Our message to the Death Eaters and their supporters is clear: we will not tolerate this violence. You will be brought to justice.
I implore the wizarding community to keep faith in such tragic times. Rest assured that peaceful days are on the horizon. Your Ministry will ensure that these acts of terrorism are stopped.
