Phased Worlds [22 Sep 2009|01:39pm] There's a reason they call it "The Hub of the Universe." When the creatures of dreams are reality... It's called sleight of hand. Distracting you with the right hand so you'll never know what the left is doing. For all its history, culture, and highlights, Boston is a bit of a dud. Though it's a major metropolitan area it almost seems a little too Old World, a little too traditional. It's boring, and that's the way they like it. Since their arrival in 1775, the supernatural beings that call Boston home have been carefully diverting attention away from themselves, but not everyone appreciates peace. [22 Sep 2009|02:55pm] The mutant gene popped up unexpectedly in 1999 though some would argue it began in 2000. For a while, maybe a year or so this had gone unnoticed but it was only for so long that something so spectacular could go unnoticed. It was in Wisconsin a boy by the name of Sammy Johnson had been spotted flying above his house by one of his neighbors. Immediately the neighbor had done the most logical thing she could do, inform the police. The police investigated, but the boy (and his parents) could not prove anything about this supposed ability of flight. Then, not even a week later a girl was caught turning invisible, another girl was creating acidic poisons with her hands and a newly wed couple was controlling and creating fire. Naturally, the Government had to get involved. They'd gone to these homes and these families to question them about their abilities, and after much deliberating and time the first mutant hospital was created in 2002. Immediately these people were shipped away to the hospital for testing. The term "mutant" had been coined and was quickly applied to anybody who possessed powers. With the knowledge of these mutants out, the human race was now growing to understand the real term of fear. Recuperatio [22 Sep 2009|03:22pm] 2005. Seven years since the fall of The Dark Lord Voldemort. After all of the pain and suffering that he inflicted, one would think that things were back to normal and peaceful. If you think that, then you’re dead wrong. Convicted rapist and murderer, Fenrir Greyback has escaped from Azkaban and has already began to leave a trail of bodies behind him as he works on building a werewolf army, along with being intent on finishing what he started with Hermione Granger back at Malfoy Manor. Poor Crookshanks has already paid the price of his bloodlust. The leading vampire rights activist has been murdered and vampires are ready to expose everyone to the Muggles if the killer isn’t caught and if their demands aren’t met. The Muggle War is affecting Wizards left and right, from soldiers to suicide bombers in London. Harry Potter is still living a reclusive life, still dealing with PTSD from the war. The Death Eaters have begun to align themselves once more, planning on finishing the work of The Dark Lord. In an attempt to gain Greyback as an ally, the Death Eaters responsible for the new regime tortured Hermione Granger, with the intent of presenting her as a gift for the wolf, but Harry Potter saved her in time. But the damage was done and Ron Weasley is now on the war path. Will Harry be able to come out of his seclusion and help his friend before he goes off the deep end? And if Harry cannot stop Ron, will his fellow Aurors be forced to do the job? All of this going on and the Head of the Magical Law Enforcement unit has just been murdered along with the Minister of Magic’s assistant and Andromeda Tonks… Someone is hell-bent on killing every single person of importance in the Ministry of Magic, leaving room for the Death Eaters to make their move. Secrets are being revealed, rumors flying, babies are born, and people are dying at an alarming rate. Lord Voldemort would be proud. Things are just beginning to get interesting. People disappeared, entire families were killed-- and the world was torn between Albus Dumbledore's Order of Phoenix and Tom Riddle's Death Eaters. The Ministry of Magic stood nearly powerless to stop these massacres and the threat of a pureblood society taking complete control loomed overhead. A red scare suddenly ran throughout the wizarding world as the body count grew. The tables turned when the Dark Lord received intelligence that he believed would seal the fate of this war. A prophecy about a child that would have the power to defeat him, and it quickly came to light that this child was born of Lily and James Potter. He set about trying to find the couple who had defied him three times, and dispose of their son. On October 31st, 1980 the Dark Lord was finally able to find the Potters at their home in Godric's Hollow when Peter Pettigrew betrayed them. However, the Potters were not ill-prepared for the attack. Severus Snape had been able to warn Lily Potter of what was to come, and when the Dark Lord arrived that evening at Godric's Hollow-- he was not met with the happy parents and their child-- but the entire Order of Phoenix and an ambush. On that Halloween, the Dark Lord fell, and the wizarding world rejoiced. Time marched on, and the world forgot about what had happened that Halloween in 1980. The families who had supported the Dark Lord were either jailed, disappeared or managed to buy their way into freedom with tarnished reputations-- but the Ministry of Magic and the Order of Phoenix managed to regain their hold and purge the world of darkness. The world was at peace, but the Dark Lord would not remain forgotten forever-- those true to him knew there were plans that could resurrect him-- but those plans had seemingly disappeared. In a world that is falling into forgetfulness and repeating the past, where will you stand in this time of trial? The War has begun..
