Every week, news comes of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing … The Ministry of Magic’s in disarray, they don’t know what to do, they’re trying to keep everything hidden from the Muggles, but meanwhile, Muggles are dying too. Terror everywhere … panic … confusion … that’s how it used to be."– Sirius Black The year is 1978. Across Europe the Wizarding Community lives in fear. Voldemort and his followers are on the rise, leaving behind a reign of terror in their wake. As Voldemort’s supporters increase and more Wizards are murdered or go missing, Wizards and Witches begin to grow even more uneasy and terrified, and an increasing number choose to fall prey to his Empire, out of fear for their lives, unwilling to stand up and fight. Despite the increasing danger to their loves, a small group of vigilante Wizards, led by Albus Dumbledore, has begun a rebellion, daring to do what the Ministry will not; fight. The Order of the Phoenix is slowly forming into a force to be reckoned with, a threat to not only Voldemort, but the Ministry itself. Change is on the brink for the students of Hogwarts. No longer will they be safe behind the confines of the castle, unaware to the real dangers of the world. They will soon be forced to make their own loyalties known; a decision that will affect not only the rest of their lives, but the entire Wizarding World. Choices have already been made for those just out of Hogwarts. They have picked their sides and now they must live with the decisions they have made. Amongst all of this darkness, the Order is the light needed to give the Wizarding World the power to take on Voldemort’s forces. As both sides fight to gain support, one question still lies: which side will you choose? Since February 1, 2009, Darkness Rising has been an active, friendly, and canon compliant Marauders Era RPG taking place in 1978 featuring talented, amazing writers. [16 Aug 2009|07:01pm] YOUR MOMENT HAS ARRIVED The bitter wars of the past have finally ended and the Earth is left in ruins. Crime and pollution have taken over on a scale unlike any previously seen before. The streets are unsafe. The struggles of the US government and the newly established Council for the Good of Humanity are not in vain however, and with the help of a few pieces of controversial legislation, the ban on the Power Rangers is lifted in 2044. Immediately, US funds are put toward Project PR, the restoration and re-integration of Rangers into the states. In the summer of 2047, a central training base is opened North of Angel Grove, CA. It expands quickly, completed with a two year training school, full campus and communal living accommodations. The privately owned grounds are soon after opened to the youth of America in hopes that the legacy of the Rangers might be reborn. A decision is made to form teams for every major city in the US, an effort that - while ambitious - is put underway immediately. Flash forward to 2053; eight years have passed since the opening of the PPR Academy and the world seems to be on it's way toward recovery. Talented new Rangers, wisened professors and eager youth are helping to carve out a better America, one city at a time. This is the start of a new era, the age of peace and the time of the modern Power Ranger. However, with every bit of light, there is an equal amount of darkness; the struggle between good and evil begins again. Which side will you choose? Extended premise can be found here! MAY THE POWER PROTECT YOU This is not your child's Power Rangers, nor is this entirely what you may recall from your childhood. While the basics of the game have been drawn from the original television show, Back To Action! is what the show would have been if it had been produced for an adult audience. There will be intense violence, heavy political plots and even sexual content. This is the HBO version of Power Rangers, spiced up and made into a serious action-drama. This game is for original characters only and is open for a ton of character growth. Get involved in what will be a huge overall plot, many small story arcs in between and plenty of action! [16 Aug 2009|07:03pm] The mutant gene popped up unexpectedly in 1999 though some would argue it began in 2000. For a while, maybe a year or so this had gone unnoticed but it was only for so long that something so spectacular could go unnoticed. It was in Wisconsin a boy by the name of Sammy Johnson had been spotted flying above his house by one of his neighbors. Immediately the neighbor had done the most logical thing she could do, inform the police. The police investigated, but the boy (and his parents) could not prove anything about this supposed ability of flight. Then, not even a week later a girl was caught turning invisible, another girl was creating acidic poisons with her hands and a newly wed couple was controlling and creating fire. Naturally, the Government had to get involved. They'd gone to these homes and these families to question them about their abilities, and after much deliberating and time the first mutant hospital was created in 2002. Immediately these people were shipped away to the hospital for testing. The term "mutant" had been coined and was quickly applied to anybody who possessed powers. With the knowledge of these mutants out, the human race was now growing to understand the real term of fear.
