That means in the world 6,706,999 people are immune. 30,382 in the US. 4,301 in Colorado. 2,506 in Denver... In July of 2012 a pathogen that came to be known as The Fury Virus was released by a cult of religious fanatics who believed they were destined to do so in order to bring about the apocalypse. Their goal was to purge the Earth of sinners, people unworthy to stand upon it. Only the righteous would remain, those that had earned their place in the new world. Everything did not go according to plan. The virus was uncontrollable. No continent, no country, no city was spared. The infection spread everywhere, mercilessly and indiscriminately killing saints and sinners alike . In the end, only a small percentage of people were left alive, but they were not the righteous. They'd simply won the genetic lottery, blessed with immunity and cursed with the burden of watching the world fall apart around them. Then there were the others, another small percentage of the population, who didn't die from the virus. They were changed though. Changed into beings made up purely of madness and rage. They killed without thought or hesitation. Those that survived the virus without succumbing to madness were now forced to fight for the lives they were trying to rebuild. The creatures, those that were changed, were called Eaters, due to their insatiable appetite for living flesh. One group of survivors made the drive up Mount Evans, to the University of Denver's Meyer-Womble Observatory, away from the packs of Eaters that roamed the cities and the plain. There, they started a new life, building a new home known as Haven. For the last eight months, they've worked tirelessly, building walls to keep their new home safe. What they can't make or grow on their own, they raid from the mostly empty city of Denver. The Eaters still come, roving bands looking for flesh to sate their hunger. Vampires, werewolves, and more exist. They have been known to the government for a long time, and now they are coming out of the shadows - and they come with a message. They are not a threat. They mean no danger to humans. But there are other things out there that do. The days that followed changed everything most people believed they knew about the world, about history, and most importantly, about themselves. Celebrities, politicians, the family down the street - they began revealing their true identities, and telling the world what they really were. Missing people that had been turned against their will came out of hiding, and orginizations popped up to reunite them with their families. The revealing of the supernatural was penned in the media as the Light of May, as society made room for the supernatural. It wasn't easy. Many, human and supernatural alike, were terrified of what this would mean. Some wanted to keep the supernatural abominations down. Leading figures of both Democratic and Republican parties were revealed to be supernaturals themselves, and joined together to fight for civil rights for the supernatural. It is revealed that if the supernatural were wiped out, half of the entire world's population would be gone. Independent parties popped up through-out the country, opposing supernatural rights, and the fight goes on. But those aren't the only battles being fought. Why did the Light of May happen? If the supernatural has always existed, why are they only making themselves known now? For centuries, those with supernatural blood have been hunted, held, and killed - all for the benefits of their blood to hunters, and vampires who don't want to play by the rules of etiquette. There was a time when the angels, and even the fae, fought to protect them. But the fae have been extinct for hundreds of years, and worse - the angels seem to have disappeared. There is nothing fighting the demons of the world at bay now. The human race is at risk, and they are not alone. _________________________ The Light of May is an original supernatural game, taking place in a time when the world is adjusting to the world that has been hidden since the beginning of time. A few days later you think you back to your childhood and there's a memory that doesn't fit, it doesn't make sense and you try not to think about it because it sets you on edge and makes you feel uncomfortable. It doesn't stop. Maybe weeks go by, or maybe it's months, and someone turns up on your doorstep. Maybe they look official, or maybe they're wearing jeans and a T-Shirt, but they introduce themselves and tell you that they're from something called 'The Agency', they sit you down and if you're lucky they'll make you a cup of tea or pour you a drink before explaining it all to you. The memories are real, but they're someone else's, someone you always thought of as fictional. You're what they call a reincarnate, someone who's been reincarnated from this fictional person, brought into this world with magic that no one yet understands. They talk about a war that's being fought between two sides of reincarnates, the good and the bad. You're not told what side to pick or that you need to, but you know that a day will come when you and the person you used to be and are possibly becoming will need to choose.
