Four years after the end of the Second Wizarding War things have finally settled back to normal. Peace and order have returned to the Wizarding World, and with the guidance of Kingsley Shacklebolt as Minister for Magic the future seems bright and safe. Lives have been rebuilt, friendships forged and grief faded. Followers of Voldemort have been hunted and arrested almost to extinction. This is the world as it should be, the world without The Dark Lord.
But the brighter the light, the deeper the shadows become...
On June 1st 2002, Kingsley Shacklebolt was murdered.
One act has shattered the lives of Witches and Wizards everywhere, and the veil of safety has been lifted. Who is responsible? Will they be found? Who will the new Minister of Magic be?
