Who: Lieb Where: Aric is walking back to his flat When: in the early hours of Sunday morning What: Aric has just received some interesting reports from some unusual contacts
The thing about the underground is that no matter how deep you think you've gone, there's always something that makes you realize that everything you know is simply the tip of the iceberg. Aric had met with some new, and rather unusual contacts tonight. Two, rumored to be part of a group of unknown size, a man and a woman. He couldn't say for sure what was different about them, but there was something there - something distinctly untamed just below the surface. Word was that they could get anything, for a price. The thing was, nobody ever seemed to have figured out just how they set their prices. Tonight for instance they offered up information for nothing more than a pint and a meal, and Aric could only assume they had their own motivation for letting the information go so cheaply. He'd worry about that part later.
For now his mind kept going over and over what he'd been told. It was public knowledge that there had been an attack on Project Noir. However, it wasn't the attack that particularly had him interested, it was the rumors circulating about some mysterious elite team who'd made an appearance with no known association to any of the groups involved. In particular, reports of a woman working in this team that had an uncanny resemblance to Beth. Not just in appearance, but the fact that she fought in a very distinctive style - including use of a garrote and parkour style movement. If the rumor was true, Aric could almost be sure the woman described was Beth. The good news being that she was apparently alive and in one piece. The bad news being yet another mystery, namely what the hell she was doing there and why she hadn't made contact.
Aric wasn't sure how to make contact with this mysterious group, and wasn't sure it was a good idea even if he did. What he did know was that he wasn't about to give up now.
