The Reception: Aya/Schreient/Ken/Open
Ken let out the breath he had been holding. Aya was a good actor but his frustration and single minded determination seemed all too convincing. Ken was content to take him at his word for now.
He shook his head in response to Aya's question. There wasn't so much a "Schwarz" left as there was Crawford and Schuldig, no matter how often Ken tended to mentally put Nagi in the same group. He doubted that he'd ever fully understand just why Omi trusted him. Farfarello was no longer a concern, not since his escape and subsequent demise. Did Aya even know the Irishman was dead? Regardless, Schwarz, thankfully, hadn't been included in the mission briefing.
"/Wait, Aya./" Ken reached out, intent on grabbing Aya's arm if necessary. Kritiker had a time table and while dissension in Esset ranks might be useful, it would make things more complicated. The last thing Weiss and the Crashers needed was to put their enemies on their guard. "/What are you going to do?/"
True, Ken might have been the more impulsive of the two but there were times when Aya's temper ran unchecked. If Aya would be willing to work with them rather than go off on path, they might just be able to use the meeting to their advantage.
