"You don't have anything to apologize for," the words were followed with a small smile. Seeing her, it still hurt, brought so many different emotions to the forefront, but Stefan was able to keep his 'game face' on. Letting his gaze linger on her for a moment, probably longer than he should have, Stefan finally moved to the booth that he had been occupying before, sliding into the seat on the opposite side of her.
Since walking into the Grill earlier, he had been thinking about what he wanted to say to her, what he actually could say. Now that the moment had arrived, Stefan was almost awestruck. "Thanks for coming to see me," he said quietly, palms resting flat against the counter top. "Is Klaus going to be joining us?" He didn't sound overly thrilled at the prospect but tried to keep it out of his voice. He just wanted to know what to expect.
