Charity clung to Michael's hand, so grateful that he'd understood exactly what was needed right then. It had been a long time since Charity had stifled her own inherent magic, at least conscious use of it, and she couldn't help but feel as if her attempt to divorce herself from what she was had crippled Molly in some way. In fact, she knew that it had. Michael's touch helped to keep her from being swept away by her own anger and guilt and regret.
"Thank you," she said, reaching across the table for Molly's other hand. Pride had kept her from bridging that gap so many years ago, she couldn't let it hold her back again. "For telling us. I know...how difficult it can be...dealing with a power that you don't want."
