When Chin arrived outside he recognized the looks of disdain from the local cops, and offered a weak little smile. Whether they liked it or not, Steve had latched onto control of the situation, and personally, Chin thought it was best that way, for all the innocent people inside that were literally sitting ducks with this no evac order in place.
After arguing with one of the officers AND his superior, he managed to get around the barricade and began speaking to someone while looking over plans, playing special attention to the surgical floor before he figured out that it was a pretty straight shot up the elevator to where Tess had placed her 911 call. -- Inside, Tess had hurried Declan and Kim from their room and was walking at the back of them, watching around for any sign that Brian was on their trail. She took her phone back from Mary to shoot Steve a quick text, detailing the situation a bit before focusing on the task at hand.
No sooner did she have the phone back in her scrubs than Brian strolled out of a room ahead of them, putting a the group to a halt, Mary bursting into tears when he raised his gun level with her face. Tess responded by clicking the hammer on hers, and leveling it on his heart.
"Brian, you have to let them go. I'll stay right here with you but they didn't do anything, all right?"
He laughed at the gall of what she was saying, but did not lower his weapon. "Tesla Rose, you spicey little nugget of cuteness. Veronica and I had our fun last night. Now it's your blood that I want to see seeping through that baby blue."
Declan had had enough, and while Brian was talking his weird shit to Tess, he came up behind him with a bad pan from a cart and whomped him right over the head. Brian half fell over and dropped the gun, which Tess kicked over to the side and out of his grasp, keeping her arms leveled with his chest. "All right, now we just...we're just going to wait here, Brian, until the cops get up here. And it's over for you."
But Declan wasn't finished. With Brian starting to raise, he used his good arm to beat him repeatedly until the taller man was falling to his knees, too disoriented to fight back. Dec dropped the pan and walked closer, unafraid, before he punched Brian in the face until his nose was bloody and his eyes were barely open.
