Her head ducked, tears welling unconsciously once more. He was really sweet. Sweet and kind and cute. If they'd been anywhere else she would have been smiling up at him and flirting a bit.
"My parents died," she answered, voice low. "In the crash. So it's just me and my brother now. And if we ever get back..." She bit her lower lip for a moment, trying to stop it from trembling. But when she spoke again, it was evident in her voice. "Nothing's ever going to be the same." The words ended in another quiet sob.
"I don't even know if there's a will or if we have legal guardians or..." Everything was up in the air.
