It was true that he would have been miserable without their phone calls, but Ianto had already been fairly miserable without Jack around. It had been five months after all. Far longer than he'd expected Jack to be gone. But he knew that it had been necessary...even if he really wasn't happy about it. At least the girl had gone on her own way and wasn't likely to ask any more favours of Jack.
"Are you doubting my coffee, sir?" he asked with a teasing smile. "That's a rather grave offence." It felt nice, almost as if no time had passed. It was just so easy to fall back into their normal roles. It wasn't even something that required conscious thought.
Ianto flushed slightly as Jack spoke, slightly dizzy from the kiss. He had almost forgotten how overwhelming it could be to kiss Jack. And that was just a damned shame. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, sir," he said with a smile, slipping Jack's coat from his shoulders, breaking as little contact as possible, planning to put it on the coat rack...as soon as he got up the initiative to step away from Jack.
"The coffee will get cold," he said softly, not really caring. He could make more later. Still, Jack probably could use some. "No doubt you've been going through withdrawals." He'd seen Jack in the midst of caffeine withdrawal once. It hadn't been pretty.
