If it hadn't been for the man waiting for him just behind that door, Jack may have stayed in Cardiff indefinitely. He liked it there, liked the familiarity of things and the people. Hell, even the rift was 'normal' there. But Jack knew he couldn't stay away, not when he had Ianto waiting for him. And if there was something he had promised his lover, it was that he would always come back. No matter what, he would return.
Jack rested his head against the door, breathing in the now-normal smells of the city. It was still too new for his tastes, but it was better than other alternatives. He could have been elsewhere in the States. Without Ianto.
Wiping the smile from his face, Jack entered the flat and was hit wit -- oh yes. Oh how he had missed this scent. So, maybe there were two things he returned for. Ianto and coffee. Jack poked his head around the corner and stepped into the kitchen. "A welcome home present?" he asked, the corners of his mouth quirking up in a half-smile.
