Tobias flushed slightly, still entirely unused to the idea of having any fans even though he'd been writing for over a decade. The idea that people liked the books he wrote was something of an unfathomable concept to him. "I've been living in the city for a few years," he said, "and wanted to find a new flat. Margot and I both liked this one better than the last, so it was an easy decision."
He looked down at his hands. "As for coming to America? My mother was American, and when my parents divorced, I came to the city with her. Spent the latter part of my school days here and went to university in the state...eventually I moved to Lansing and taught at a high school there while I worked on my doctorate. I got a job at Ithaca and started writing professionally...then, after...four years ago I moved back to the city and got a job at NYU. I've been on something of a hiatus from writing, the past few years, but I finished a new book last year and I've been working on another one, so I suppose I'm past that. Needless to say, Margot is pleased." He hadn't realised exactly how much he talked about his editor before this. "Enough about me. How did you come to be in New York."
