Lily was sitting on Tim's sofa with a cup of tea, watching the news on the BBCA. The state of the world really did give her a headache sometimes. It didn't even help to know that it was the past and things would eventually get better...at least for a while. Her classes didn't start up again for a little over a month, but Torchwood was keeping her busy enough. Of course, with the afternoon off, that wasn't much help. She flipped through the channels before giving up on the television and deciding to visit with Sparky.
She finished her tea first and went to the kitchen to wash the cup. No reason to leave a mess, even though she knew if her brothers were in her place they'd avoid cleaning for as long as possible. She heard the door open as she dried the cup and put it away, and smiled. "Hey, Tim," she said brightly. "How was work? Did they manage not to kill anyone today?" Normally their time off coincided, but this week it hadn't.
