Carol was always impressed by how charming Nathan could be. When they'd first met, she'd noticed it and put it off as a politician playing a part, but she'd found that he genuinely was that charming. With her anyway. She smiled as he refilled her wine and took a sip, considering his question. It was nice to get out for the evening, just the two of them. They were both so busy with their respective jobs that they didn't get out as often as they might have liked. But she wasn't bothered. She understood demanding jobs.
"Why don't we split something," she suggested after a moment, glancing over the dessert menu. She doubted she could finish a whole dessert, and every so often she liked stereotypical coupley things. It made her feel just a bit more normal. And normal was good.
