Alice kicked off her heels, figuring she'd be a lot more likely to not fall down if she wasn't five extra inches off of the ground. "Been better, but I'm not impaled on a switchblade." She dug through her purse for her cell phone, reaching out to hand it to him. She didn't take too many steps toward him, because she wasn't too keen on falling again.
"Thanks, by the way." She'd pulled out some Kleenex from her purse and was working at cleaning the blood off of her temple and cheek.
