Dan sat in a corner booth at one of his favorite dining establishments in New York, sipping from his water glass. He felt bad about missing Selina when they were supposed to meet at Starbucks, but he was determined to make it up to her. He figured treating her to dinner was, at the least, a start. He'd informed the hostess that he was expecting her, so hopefully they wouldn't miss each other this time.
This was the first time since he'd broken up with Rebecca that he'd gone out with anybody who didn't work at Sports Night and he still hadn't succeeded in convincing Casey that this was a business meeting, not a date. Even if it was, what did it matter? Rebecca had gone back to her jerk husband, he was free to see whoever he wanted.
He finished his water glass, already thinking he might need to call Rebecca later. Maybe things weren't working out again.
