"We'll see." Bridget didn't want to get anyone's hopes up about what could and couldn't be done with the scribe network. Either way it was going to be some time, weeks or even months, before she understood the code well enough and crafted a program to hack into the entire system and take it over even temporarily.
She cocked her head and raised a skeptical eyebrow at his monologue. If he'd really been so dedicated to rooting out corruption in RUN he would have been dead long before now, at least in her opinion. Given what she'd been exposed to through Anthony the entire leadership of RUN in New Portland was corrupt in some way, shape, or form.
And she hadn't questioned it. She'd just gone around like a good little drone. Maybe she'd rebelled a little here and there with her hacking and risk taking but Bridget liked her creature comforts and the idea of being a real rebel hadn't occurred to her until it had been forced on her.
She'd had plenty of time to think over the past week and a half and she didn't like the path she'd been on before. So maybe this was for the best, she certainly didn't want her children growing up in that sort of environment and exposure to Clarity was opening her eyes about a great many things.
And maybe she was being too judgmental toward Richard. The skepticism faded somewhat and she leaned back in her seat. "I hope you're right. Maybe something good will come with us being on the outside rather than inside."
