Fifteen minutes until close and the person that she'd been waiting for still hadn't set foot into the shop.
It had been a relatively slow day until four, when there had been a rush on pickups, new orders and for some reason Pepper-Up Potions. It had been a big enough rush where Michelle would have to start a new cauldron tomorrow to replenish the shop's stores, but that wasn't unusual. Depending on the month and the time of the month depended what potion there would be a rush on, at least at the Hogsmeade location. Given that the clientele were largely the same, made it easier to predict who was going to need what when. But in truth, Shelly wasn't keeping note. Except in some very, very specific cases.
Taking a breath, she turned her attention from the door back to the customer that was currently talking her ear off.
"Mrs. Brathwaite," she interrupted, her tone pleasant, she didn't want to lose a customer over this. "I apologize, but we will be closing soon. If you have a new order, I can begin on it tomorrow morning, but we do not have any of this potion in our stores at present. It isn't one that is highly sought after out here."
The woman frowned. "If I went to the store in Diagon Alley they would have it," Mrs. Brathwaite countered.
"Yes, I'm certain they would. And I will be inquiring with them via Owl after we finish. But unless you wish to Floo there, I'm afraid that you will have to wait till tomorrow."
Mrs. Brathwaite didn't seem happy about it, but still held out the Healer's Slip for Michelle to process. Shelly took a note that the potion in question had similar side effects as the ones that the customer had been bringing in the last few months, but was not the same potion. If this kept up, given that it was a pattern, it might require a conversation. But for now, she would fill the order.
"Just give me a moment and I'll have your slip," Shelly smiled, a bit of a forced smile, but business was business. She was looking down at the counter doing the calculations when she heard the bell over the door go off. "Just a moment, I'll be with you in a second."
