Chaz Avery {won't play your political game} (chaz) wrote in prewargames,
The threat was idle and Chaz knew it. Alexei could think about dropping him to the ground, but he wouldn't do it. He never did, so Chaz got away with what most people wouldn't be able to. Either it was a testament to their friendship or he managed to catch Alexei at just the right moments every single time. So, instead of taking the threat as intimidating, Chaz hummed softly as if considering what he said.
"Nah," he shook his head finally. "The ground doesn't put out."
Chaz paused for a moment as soon as they walked outside, watching Alexei take in the evening air. Moments like this made him smile, and he couldn't help but enjoy them. Alexei seemed so tightly wound all the time, it was these brief glimpses that Chaz enjoyed best. When he could relax and enjoy something. He didn't know all of what went on in Alexei's life nowadays, though not for lack of trying. They were busy and their schedules didn't always match up, but Alexei was secretive. Despite all signs pointing to that meaning something not great, Chaz chose to ignore any alarm bells going off and instead chose to enjoy what time he had with the other man.
"There is something about being away from home that is magical," he agreed. Holding his hands in his pockets, he glanced down the street, admiring the colors that danced on the windows and over the lines of the street. England was too familiar for Chaz to really take in the scenery and enjoy it--he imagined it was much the same for Alexei.
"Ooh, Spanish recipes. I'll taste test for you," he said with a wink as they started off down the street.
