His nose wrinkled in minor annoyance at the idea of jumping in the pool. He preferred stretching out in a pool chair and taking a nap over actually going swimming. Alexei knew how to swim, he just wasn't the biggest fan of actually doing it for fun. Pools were predictable without that sense of danger that came from swimming in the ocean. The next second he was snorting with mild amusement at the fact his fish were still alive. That was actually oddly impressive since he rarely had a pet live past a week, but the fact he was in Spain most certainly worked in their favor.
"And did you run into any of my annoying neighbors? I know they enjoy fangirling at you," he rested the empty coffee mug against his leg as he let his head rest against the back of the couch. His whole body tensed at how close Chaz suddenly got and there was a fraction of a moment where he debated shoving the other man off the couch. Alexei settled on closing his eyes for the moment, a sign of how little of a danger he thought the musician. He did take naps around Nyx, but that was more he knew she wouldn't kill him because he made them both a lot of money. Chaz would cry at killing a fly.
"I'm wounded," he teased in a sarcastic tone. "Second favorite?"
He cracked his eyes open to give his friend a slight look from beneath his lashes at the remark about selling and recoding the music. "Tempted just to make you suffer, but I think I'll pass on recording your preview. Too much energy and not enough cares given." He closed his eyes again and did his best to ignore the image of a sobbing woman. Merlin, why did so many of them beg? His fingers tightened on the mug before he surged to his feet, not caring if Chaz fell against the couch. He set the mug down on the coffee table as he headed towards the bedroom with a purpose. He yanked his travel bag open and began to dig through the clothes for his potions bag. Soon enough he was yanking a small vial out and just kind of stared at the pale liquid.
"My father requests I come home soon. Most likely to show off another harlot that doesn't realize he isn't going to marry her," he stated as he uncorked the potion. "I think I shall stay in Spain awhile longer."
He downed the potion like a shot of tequila and made a faint face after the off-tasting mixture coated his mouth. The pay off was well worth it because the pain in his leg vanished and he started to feel more awake. He would be able to stay awake at least for another eight hours, give or take. Faint color returned to his face as he stretched, trying to get the knots out of his muscles.
