Amycus was momentarily startled by Aurelia's outburst but he covered it quickly. "Nothing important ever involves Hufflepuffs," he said with a soft laugh. "If they were meant to be involved in important things, they'd have been put in Slytherin with us," he added, brushing his lips over her temple gently. "I'm sorry it wasn't useful darling," he whispered, pulling her a little closer when he realized she was crying. He was crap at dealing with stuff like this and wished that she and Adi were talking because then he could pass Aurelia over to her and not worry about it.
He stood up with Aurelia and gave her a long look. "Put your arms around my neck and head on my shoulder," he told her as he picked her up in his arms and waited for her to get settled before starting back towards the dormitory and his room. He was careful to keep his stride even so as not to jostle her anymore than necessary.
