Curse James Potter and his ability to talk her into anything. Apparently her glances to Remus the other night at dinner had not gone unnoticed by Lily, who then shared it with James, who then offered to lend Hestia his sequined jacket if she wore it to serenade Remus. So, here she was. Decked out in the finest sequined jacket at Hogwarts, trembling with excitement. Lily had even pitched in a song idea, which Hestia found brilliant. Those two were going to get her in trouble, she was sure of it. She didn't even know if Remus fancied her or even cared to think of her in that way. Still... She was sure that even if he didn't, she could pretend like this was all a joke. Right? She was also glad to do it in the Common Room. After all the attention in the Great Hall, she just didn't want to fall on her face in front of anyone she didn't trust. She had written a brief message in her journal for Remus to meet her in the Common Room. Now she was standing at the foot of her staircase, waiting for him to show up. Thanks to a nifty little charm that she had (surprisingly) mastered last year, she started the music when he was standing in the middle of the Common Room. Wasting no time at all, she stepped out of the shadows and proceeded to sing, not once taking her eyes off of Remus. The singing included a little bit of dancing, which almost ended terribly. Hestia in heels was fine - when she was walking. Hestia in heels while dancing and nervous? Not so much. She teetered several times, almost falling over. But she kept on smiling and singing - only missing a note or two here or there. As she was coming to a close, she held a magnificent pose with her arms outstretched for about ten seconds. Then she lost her footing and tripped over an arm chair she had landed a bit too close to, landing on the floor with a soft thump and a fit of giggles ensuing. |
