Who: Open to all who purchased a ticket :D What: Princess Brianne's Air Force Fundraiser Where: The Leaky Cauldron When: Saturday evening Status: No smuts here, please.
Princess Brianne, with the assistance of Fiona Killick, had been planning her first military fundraiser for months. Tickets sold out by Friday afternoon, all seats reserved for the three-course meal. For the starter course, guests had a choice of spring mix salad, french onion soup, or an assorted cheese plate. In the second course, a choice among chicken pot pie, braised short ribs, and vegetable lasagna. Dessert platters of a slice of cheesecake, scoop of Florean's, and mini cherry pie ensured all guests finished their meals with a sweet sampling of all of the tastiest Leaky desserts. Throughout the meal and late into the evening, scheduled acoustic musicians (with some open mic slots for last minute entries) took the makeshift stage, where a minimalist stool, microphone on a mic stand, and single spotlight stood in the corner of the pub, available for people to watch if they wanted but to otherwise ignore if they'd rather not. Regardless, the live music filtered through the pub all evening.
The bar, which remained open well into the night, provided two specialty Air Force themed cocktails during the meal, which were also available for purchase after dinner. "By Broom"--a whiskey-based cocktail with infused elderflower syrup and a lemon twist, and "By Steed"--crafted for those who preferred a sweeter option, gin-based with rhubarb and plum juice served with an orange wedge.
Toward the end of the night, after most guests had indulged in at least two or three drinks, Rupert, beloved barback of the Leaky, put on his Auctioneer hat and called volunteering soldiers up to the makeshift stage one by one. Guests were encouraged to bid on a date with the soldiers by raising their hand and calling out their bids, each higher than the previous bid. The soldier has all rights to arrange the 'date' however he or she feels most comfortable. It will also be noted that dates may be romantic or platonic in nature.
All proceeds earned from ticket sales, drink special sales, and the auction will be donated to the Royal Air Force.
