The Birthday Ball
Her Royal Highness Queen Arabella formally invited the wizarding nobility to her youngest daughter's 20th birthday ball, a momentous occasion signifying all of the kingdom's princes and princesses aged out of teenagedom (and those lingering 3 transitional years between 17-20 that counted as "adulthood"). The formal ballroom boasted round tables with immaculate floral centerpieces surrounding a dance floor and a buffet-style hors d'oeuvres spread, followed by a four-course dinner with decadent dessert options. An open bar sat in the corner of the ballroom, with white-cloaked palace staff servers taking laps about the room to serve champagne cocktails. A wizarding string quartet played classical music during dinner, followed by well-known wizarding waltzes for guests to dance after dinner, if they so desired.
The Afterparty
Through a lesser utilized back gate entrance to the palace, Cory's friends and their plus ones stopped at the check-in station to safely stow their wands with palace guards and also check their summer cloaks, if they wore one. A walking path led to the palace gardens, where a soundproofed white tent had been erected for the princess' afterparty. A stage stood along the far wall where the Dirigible Plums rocked two full sets in front of an expansive dance floor open well into the night. Less formal finger-food starters lined a buffet table along one wall, with more desserts available for guests, including an ice cream sundae station. A heavily staffed bar lined the opposite wall, and in addition to bar stools, couches and coffee tables offered comfortable seating for all guests.
