Planet Reference
It's a big 'verse, and there are tons of planets. Here's a hand-dandy reference guide for some of the ones that have been established as existing!
Core Planets The planets in the Core are, generally speaking, much better off than those in the Fringe. The cities tend to be larger, the schools tend to be better, and the people generally seem to feel less oppressed. The government is located in the Core, and most of the money that leaves the Fringe ends up boosting the economy of Core planets. |

Asteroid M Population: ~300 Description: Asteriod M is the private home of Erik Lensherr and his family. When not on Wycombe conducting business, this is usually where the Lensherrs reside. It consists of a large sprawling estate with various outbuildings and extensive gardens. There is a small village nearby that houses the families of the servants of the Lensherr family. Guests are allowed by invitation only. Invasion of the airspace without authorization does not end well for intruders. The Gray King likes his privacy. Industry: None Notable residents: The Lensherr Family Additional info: Magneto personally took over the asteroid to build his home on, oversaw its terriforming, setting its orbit with his powers and it's pretty much his long standing warning to the universe he's not to be trifled with lightly. |
Bacchi Asteroid Population: 3.473 million (plus tourists) Description: The Bacchi Asteroid is a mid-size man made asteroid orbiting Wycombe where the pop stars and cultural heavyweights of the Alliance live (are kept some say). It's also where a lot of people in the Core will go for vacation in the hopes of running into someone famous. Full of art gallerys, movie theaters, movie studios, music studios, libraries, book stores, bars, clubs, etc. Bacchi offers anything and everything you could ever want to do while writing it off as being "cultural." Things are kept immaculate and beautiful all the time. Industry: Film, music, art, literature, pop culture Notable residents: Alison Blaire Additional info: Sort of a mash up New York City, Hollywood and Nashville but climate control. Also way cleaner than any normal city. |
Chiton Population: 2.715 million Description: Chiton is a fairly small but densely populated planet. It has four distinct, often extreme seasons, and the main "downtown" area surrounds a large lake. The people of Chiton, while generally well off, are known for being hard working and having street smarts. Certain areas of the planet have very high crime rates, so watch out. Industry: White-collar Notable residents: Alison Blaire (former resident) Additional info: Based on Chicago, but without the constant disappointment that is the Cubs. |
Genosha Population: 16.278 million (plus tourists) Description: Gem of the universe, vacation paradise. Genosha is known for being a tropical paradise. Thanks to climate control, it's sunny and beautiful all year long without getting two hot. Genosha has two main landmasses, the one where residents and tourists spend their time in lavish cities, and the other landmass is the head of Companion Guild where the council sits, yearly check ups are done and the main university is located. Industry: Companions, paradise Notable residents: Additional info: A number of "counter culture" artistic types call Genosha home. |
Wycombe (aka HFC) Population: 63.23 million Description: The central Alliance planet, Wycombe, is medium sized and densely populated in its cities. It has four main landmasses, each of which boasts a rather balanced mix of rural and urban living as it is popular to holiday in the country. The cities are clean, well run and have the best of everything. Most of the members of the HFC Inner Circle live on Wycombe and it is the place where the HFC meets, hence its nickname being more commonly used than its official name. Industry: Complete domination Notable residents: Most Inner Circle members, Braddock family Additional info: The seat of the government, and the most populated Core planet. |
Medias Population: 21.33 million Description: Medias is a medium size planet that is nominally populated. Of its two main landmasses, one is regulated for the acquisition of natural resources and the other is more industrial minded, employing a number of the residents to work in the technology factories, producing components. Industry: Electronic components, lumber, other natural resources Notable residents: Russoff family Additional info: The twin moons of Medias, Regulus and Remus, are off-limits to everyone by decree of the Alliance. The moons have been under quarantine for decades. |
Nova Roma Population: 9.4 million Description: Nova Roma is a tropical planet which has modeled itself architecturally after the legendary Rome (and Greece, thanks to blurry historical accounts) on Earth That Was. Its buildings, even the new ones, all feature elements of classic architecture mixed in with the new technologies. Nova Roma has a high concentration of political hopefuls, many of whom attended or teach at one of the prestigious academies on the planet. Many of the residents of Nova Roma are considered by outsiders to be somewhat pretentious, as a great deal of them openly frown upon those they deem uneducated or uncultured. Industry: Politics, education, research Notable residents: Additional info: |
Pride Population: ~0 (formerly less than 50 but the planet is currently under a strict quarantine and is being patrolled and controlled by orbiting Alliance ships) Description: Pride is a very small planet with one central landmass. It was formerly mainly inhabited by six, rather famous families, and a handful of other residents needed for the running of day to day operations in the main city. Since the tragedy the planet has been off limits. Industry: Corruption Notable residents: Families Dean, Hayes, Minoru, Stein, Wilder, Yorkes Additional info: Hidden quarters exist all over the planet, under the ground as well as underwater. Not all of these have been thoroughly searched, which is another reason why the planet has been under quarantine for most of the past ten years. |
Red Light Population: 3,000 Description: Red Light is a small planet that is almost on the Fringe. Most of its residents stay in one area, a rather dirty, cobbled together city full of pick pockets, bounty hunters and sex workers, many of whom are decommissioned Companions who were kicked out of the Guild for one reason or another. Industry: Sex Notable residents: Additional info: "Wretched hive of scum and villainy" to steal a catchphrase. |
Sprite Population: 62 million Description: Sprite is a large core planet, home to some of the 'Verse's best schools, hospitals, museums, shopping, and restaurants. It is very technologically advanced, and is a popular tourist destination. The residents of Sprite are generally middle to upper class, though there are also a fair share of lower-class individuals who work the landmasses that act as shipping ports. Many of the 'Verse's most famous musicians, chefs, and scientists have either lived, studied, or worked on Sprite at some point. Industry: Tourism, education, healthcare Notable residents: Additional info: |
Vega Valley Population: 1.9 million (plus tourists) Description: Vega Valley is a relatively large planet, with most of the population residing in or around one central area. The climate is generally hot and desert-like, with a very short winter. The most exciting part of the planet is nestled in the large valley for which the planet was named. It is a vibrant, bustling area full of casinos, elaborate stage shows, tournaments, and other night life. Industry: Gambling, entertainment, nightlife Notable residents: Milo Thurman Additional info: Go on, guess what this is based on. |
Weapon X Asteroid Population: 2,236 Description: A very small man-made asteroid, the Weapon X compound is known for its research, both medical and scientific. It is also the home base for the Alliance's army commanders. Most soldiers are trained and stationed on other planets except for the elite corps that is housed on the asteroid itself. A number of the scientists and their families reside on the asteroid itself. Industry: Science! Also torture and soldier-making. Notable residents: Additional info: Unknown to most, the asteroid is comprised of a large number of levels extending beyond the main complex. |

Fringe Planets Fringe planets are harder to keep under the sway of the Alliance. There are a lot of little “kingdoms” in the black who have kept their relative freedom either through use of force, favor, disinterest from the Alliance or flat out bribery. In addition to the baby kingdoms, a lot of the Fringe worlds have begun to become colonized though some are considered more Rebellion worlds and some are decidedly funded by the Alliance. |
Caldecott Population: 2.985 million Description: Caldecott is much larger than its population would suggest, but the vast majority of the planet is made up of plantations, which cover a lot of land. The weather tends to be warm and muggy almost all year, and severe thunderstorms are a fairly regular occurrence. Industry: Farming, particularly cotton. Notable residents: Additional info: |
Cumberland Population: 4.38 million Description: Cumberland is a mountainous planet that is covered with forests as well as fertile farmland. It has a wealth of natural resources, notably minerals, which is why a lot of its major exports come from mining. Cumberland is ruled by landowners who lease out land to workers in order to give them the sense that they can eventually work out from under their debt. Industry: Mining and farming Notable residents: About 800 Guthries Additional info: |
La Nouvelle-Orléans Population: 4.6 million Description: La Nouvelle-Orléans is a delightfully hot, humid, and often swampy planet. It is known for its huge celebrations, as well as its vast waterways and the industries that benefit from them. Seafood is the main export - crawfish, catfish, and alligator are all delicacies that more often than not come from Orléans' fishing fleets. Many rumors exist about the people of the planet and their religions, upbringing, and criminal backgrounds, and for the most part, they prefer having it remain that way. It helps to keep the rest of the 'Verse at arm's length. Industry: Tourism, export of seafood, training ground for thieves and assassins. Notable residents: The Thieves and Assassins Guilds Additional info: Laissez les bons temps rouler! Also, watch your pockets and trust nobody. |
Limbo Population: 5k Description: Limbo is a small planet, rather more of a moon, that is sparsely populated. The environment is hostile, despite efforts to terraform, and most of the residents live underground as a result. This assists in the slave industry as it's difficult to really determine the population when you never see most of them. Industry: Slaves Notable residents: Lord Belasco Additional info: Except for official Alliance business, which never happens, permits are required to land on Limbo. Also Lord Belasco has an outstanding bounty out for the return of his property: Illyana Rasputin and the ship Soulsword. |
Mojoworld Population: 100k Spineless Ones, 250k-300k slaves of various races (about a quarter are Bipeds, ~ 20,000 of the slaves have escaped and are living in the ruins outside as rebels) Description: Mojoworld is a vast wasteland that seemed to house a once vast supercity and several outlying settlements that are now ruins. In the center is an extremely high tech citadel that houses most of the population of the planet. At the center of the citadel is the arena when Mojo hosts whatever entertainment he has going on. The Spineless Ones are a highly advanced alien race that have fallen into complete decadence and apathy thanks to the cybernetics that constantly feed the vid programs Mojo hosts into their brains. He is an absolute dictator. Slaves maintain everything. The rebels who escape live in the ruins around, along with the outcast Spineless One Arize, who created the Bipeds, trying to overthrow Mojo. Industry: Fencing. Fighting. Torture. Poison. True love. Hate. Revenge. Giants. Hunters. Bad men. Good men. Beautifulest ladies. Snakes. Spiders. Beasts of all natures and descriptions. Pain. Death. Brave men. Coward men. Strongest men. Chases. Escapes. Lies. Truths. Passion. Miracles. In other words, entertainment for the masses! Notable residents: Mojo, Arize Additional info: Mojoworld is not well known in the Core and the folks of the Fringe fear the mysterious high tech slave ships that appear suddenly and take entire villages, the people never to be seen again. |
Neu Österreich Population: 8.47 million Description: Neu Österreich is a very old planet, and is perhaps the wealthiest of the Fringe planets. It is a planet that is considered by man in the Core to be charming and quaint, without being uncomfortably old-fashioned, and is a popular tourist destination. The city centers on this world have some of the oldest, most beautiful buildings in the 'verse. The planet itself is mountainous, with many farms and ski resorts dotting the landscape. Industry: Farming, culture, tourism Notable residents: The Adler-Darkhölme clan, The Lensherrs (former residents) Additional info:Based loosely on Austria. German is an accepted language on this planet. |
Serenity-X Population: ~350 Description: Serenity-X is a small planet, another that should probably be deemed a moon, with two landmasses. The entire planet was purchased from the Alliance by Charles Xavier years ago. The planet itself is rich in natural resources combined with good farming opportunities thanks to excellent terraforming. The weather is mild most of the time. There is a small city as well as the main residence, the Big House, and several smaller homesteads, including the Guthries. The city is run by Rebel operatives and their families. Industry: Rebellion Notable residents: Charles Xavier, most rebels Additional info: Primary rebel base. |
This Land Population: 2.91 million Description: This Land is a mid-size planet that is sparsely populated and has three main landmasses. Each landmass has distinctly different weather conditions that make it more favorable for the tribes that live there. The tribes on This Land are divided mostly by cultural heritage and origination. While there is frequent intermarriage between the tribes, they still do not blend much in the day to day life. Appointed traders move between tribes and off world in order to acquire necessary goods. There is a Council of Tribes that meets to discuss and solve problems that arise in as peaceful a manner as possible. Outsiders are not encouraged but are tolerated as long as they do not prove problematic. Industry: None of your damn business. Notable residents: Additional info: This Land is markedly different in the fact that most of the diverse tribes have kept their own language alive. A number of residents of the planet may speak more than one tribal language in addition to the universal language, but each tribe refers to the planet by a name in their own language, which makes the translation into universal rather generic. The same can be said for the names of the tribes as they all call themselves "The People" in their own language. |
Ust-Ordynski Population: 11.5 million Description: Ust-Ordynski is one of a system of large, sparsely populated farming planets located near the edge of the Fringe. Large communal farms areas are worked by the community and then goods are shipped out to the Core and other Fringe planets. Defenses are weak (because the Core sucks at protecting crap they need if it inconveniences them) so these planets are at risk of being attacked by space pirates, slavers, etc. Industry: Farming Notable residents: Additional info:Ust-Ordynski's local government runs in a very Socialist manner. They are known to be peaceful people who just want to be left alone. |
