The good part about following a wounded target was that you knew their options were limited. Jeb Brought them in lower to the smoke trail, then gunned it. The lurch of acceleration put himharder against his seat. He said, over the comms, "Lizzie, I don't need to tell you you got one shot at this... I can't just stay in front of 'em. They still got guns... Means I've gotta come in right over their heads." Jeb's eyes narrowed into a wicked grin as collision warnings popped up on his HUD. His trajectory brought him in at a slight angle over the top of the craft. "Hold fast, folks!"
The Zebulon skimmed bare meters over the top of the wounded Pirate ship. Jeb didn't wait there long. The worst shot could still hit them at that angle. Barely long enough for Lizzie to jump out onto the craft, and Jeb was hauling on the yoke to take them down around and behind the ship into a blind spot on their sensors. No angle on them here. He hit a switch that released a long, thick tow cable from the back of the ship. Sammie wasn't the only one who got options put in for his retrieval. Jeb brought them back up behind the ship, keeping his optics just outside the trail of smoke. If Lizzie needed rescuing, Jeb would be right there.
