As he attempted to remove the stray hair from his eyes, Ana smiled in response. She loved the way little things like that always made her smile (that rare smile that wasn't at another student's expense). Ana couldn't deny his charm wasn't lost on her. Even Cian knew that. Despite all this, the fact they were closer than the average 'best mates' was cause to convince her to keep her head out of the clouds. She wasn't about to risk their friendship for anything as fickle as a relationship. They had tried that already, and the damage had been done. The fact Oliver continued on to flirt about with other girls, most of which were a great deal different and more attractive than her, spoke volumes. That aside, she had her hands full with the love triangle between herself, Dominic Skeeter, and his ridiculous Ravenclaw bird.
"Only looking out for you," she teased back, sliding the textbook in front of her. She skimmed her finger down to point six before rummaging through their ingredients for the vial containing the tongue of a cane toad. It had to be diced into smaller pieces, so fortunately Ana wasn't the squeamish type. Taking her knife in hand, she began to do so manually. Sometimes magic didn't always mean accuracy, after all, and she wouldn't risk it with their marks on the line. Brushing the bits off her dirty parchment into the cauldron, Ana's attention was pulled away yet again.
She felt as if someone was watching her, and by instinct shot a casual glance toward Potter. To her surprise, it wasn't James but his partner yet again. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly when she realised it wasn't her Chris seemed to be taken with but Oliver. Maybe she was reading into it, but whatever it was, she'd definitely take that opportunity to poke some fun at the Gryffindor. Leaning in to Oliver's ear, she spoke in a hushed voice while keeping her eyes fixed on the boy in question. She tried to make it apparent she was talking about him, but keep him guessing all the same what could have been said between them. "Don't look now, Ollie, but it would seem you have a fan girl. I'm not referring to Potter this time," she corrected, nodding her head toward Chris Ross.
