The color that spread across her cheeks was so delightful. He just wanted to go up to her and put his hand on her cheek to feel the lingering heat. But he couldn't do that now. He needed to snap out of whatever reality he was in and back into the real one. Their real one, the one where they didn't like each other.
They walked mostly in silence back into the Slytherin house, which was fine with him. The less talking the better. And talking might attract attention to anyone else who was down here. They meant to keep this all private after all, right? He rolled his eyes at her comments about him lighting up again and he looked straight at her, "Maybe that's not such a bad idea," he scoffed. But of course, he didn't. He could just smoke in his dorm room with a charm around his bed.
When he turned to say goodbye, he was surprised by a little by her sudden closeness and shivered involuntarily as she whispered in his ear. But what she said made him smile. So the girl did have a dark side. The thought made his stomach churn with excitement. She pulled away, and he made no move to say anything to her. He leaned back against the wall and watched her walk away. When she turned to look back at him, he kissed in her general direction before disappearing inside the Slytherin common room.
