Eveline typically never thought of it, but in that moment she hated having to look at Dominic's lips in order to understand him. All she could see was his serious amusement. Struggling to focus on what his lips were saying, his words didn't register right away. However, once it did a look of surprised washed over her face just long enough to be noticeable before it immediately transfered back to her usual unimpressed half-glare. Eveline opened her mouth to say something, but he disarmed her with his proximity. Instead, she took out her wand and with a wordless swish the cigarette behind them burst into a green flame and was gone when the flame extinguished seconds later.
Tucking the wand back into her skirt, Eveline sniffed away all of her insecurities. She found it hard to decipher what he is saying while she could smell him, and she choose to ignore any of his comments about her being home. She hadn't been home in six years.
Eveline wanted to take a step away from him, her heart pounding a little from his glances and him calling her "Miss Dunstan", but she couldn't escape the idea that it would be giving up, so instead she pulled herself to her full height. This was where Andrew would take more points for sass, but that had never been something she could do. People had a right to their opinion and to take points away, well that was Andrew's one down fall. "Ten points for curfew," Eveline added, her lips still pursed uncomfortably.
Eveline sniffed again and shook her head. "Anyway, Dominic, what I do in my personal life has no bearing on my duties." She involuntarily shrugged her shoulders as if asking him to understand. "I am doing my job."
