Seeing Valerie look somewhat nervous put him slightly at ease. At least he wasn't the only one. His heart gave an unpleasant twinge when he saw her begin to shake her head, taking that as a sign of rejection. His brow knitted when he saw her smile though and he matched it with his own as she began to lean in. As their lips made contact, Casey's own arms slid around Valerie's back to support her and hold her closer, although he himself was in danger of slipping from his chair. Thankfully that didn't happen, even after the pair of them broke apart.
At the sound of her laugh, Casey grinned and leaned in slowly once more. Hovering just inches away from her lips, he smiled with relief once more before capturing her in a short, sweet kiss. It was official. He and Valerie were a couple. At that moment he knew that whatever happened, his eighteenth birthday really was one to remember.
