Now that it was over and Gwen had failed to say what needed to be said but had done what needed to be done, she felt as though she were waking up. Not in a literal sense of course, but she felt as though she was returning to her old self. That fact was made apparent as she folded her arms and smirked slightly, letting her eyes take in the sight of a fairly breathless James. Sitting on the arm of his chair, she continued to watch him intently.
"That was what I was trying to say, but it wouldn't come out. So I took a leaf out of your book and went for the surprise kiss-out-of-nowhere technique," she commented jokingly with an amused smile. The fluttering in her stomach that had threatened to explode when she'd kissed him was finally settling down now, but was replaced with a nervous sort of energy one got when waiting eagerly for news. What would happen now? It was obvious how she felt (at least she hoped it was obvious) and, judging from his reaction, it was obvious how James felt. But where did they go from there?
