In truth, Gwen was rather glad she had woken up as well. Their friends, as lovable as they were, happened to be larger than the average group size of mates and thus one-on-one time with any of them was often limited. It hadn't helped matters after James had confessed his feelings, as Gwen always felt their mates were watching for the slightest hint that something might happen between them. That's what had made the past few days so difficult for her in terms of sneaking glances at James. She was always on the lookout to see if their other friends were watching, not wanting to alert any of them to her true feelings. Now that she had told Chris and Alex though, she didn't feel as self-conscious. But still, it was nice to just be here with James. It gave her the opportunity to see how she felt around him without interference from everyone else.
"I'm glad to be of help," she replied a little more happily than she meant to, her perky attitude slightly out of character for her. Usually she would have told James to man up before heading back to bed, but she was enjoying his company far too much, even if he was anxious and on edge. Clearing her throat and toning down her emotions a little, she continued, "I mean, you know, it sucks to be on your own when you're feeling a bit off."
