"Precisely," Leanne said slowly, "That's exactly what I want to avoid." She glanced at Tamsin again. "What we both want to avoid, I'm sure." Her eyes drifted back to their daughters as she said, "Our daughters resenting us. That's something I never want."
She was silent for a moment, watching the girls roll in the grass. Then her gaze moved to Tamsin just in time to catch a familiar look in her eyes. Smiling, she said, "Grass stains, right?" She laughed softly. "Remind me to show you the new charm I picked up. Well it's not new, exactly, my Mum taught it to me the other day. But it gets the grass stains right out if you catch them fast enough!"
