"Our place. I think I like the sound of that," John told Jen as he glanced back out over the ocean. "I'd definitely like to come up more often, especially with you."
He was glad that he hadn't made a huge faux pas with the wine, but somehow, it didn't seem right to bring anything else to the picnic although he had packed some water, just in case. He found himself laughing, though, at the fact that it took a lot to get a Nagual drunk.
"So that's why there wasn't anything in the database," he said. "You don't want to give away your secret when it comes to bar bets."
While she grabbed the plates, he pulled out the glasses and poured them each a glass. He raised his eyebrows in amusement as she started eating the strawberry before coughing a bit when she talked about making out with him instead of eating.
"I...um...might be best if we eat. I mean, I did go through a lot of trouble to...ask the dining hall to put this together." He leaned forward and held up the glass to her. "I have a feeling there'll be plenty of make-out time later."
