"I love you, too, John. I'll see you later," Jennifer said before she kissed him goodbye.
After showering, and putting on her Poseidon uniform, Jennifer went down to the library, where Mika was waiting. She didn't say a lot to the other girl. Instead, she electronically signed the correction document and had Mika come with her to Olive's pie shop. When they walked in, Olive was humming to herself as she made a pot of coffee.
"Oh! Thank goodness. Was beginning to think I was going to have to serve book pie to my customers today," she said with a grin as she took the tablet from Jennifer and signed the document too.
"Sorry about the mix up," Jennifer said as Mika ducked her head, and quickly left with the crates of books.
"No biggie," Olive said as she eyed Jennifer. "How was your date with John? You look like a girl, who's in love with the most wonderful man in the universe."
Jennifer blushed and ducked her head. "Word sure spreads fast around here. Was it Laura or Evan who told you?" she asked.
"It was Tim, actually. Laura and him had a bet on when the two of you would finally get together. My Timmy won," Olive happily said.
"I..see," Jennifer said as she raised her eyebrows. "Well, I should probably get back to my office."
After saying goodbye to Olive, Jennifer left but didn't go toward the library. Instead, she went to the pit and marched over to Tim's desk, where she slapped him on the back of the head.
"Hey! What was that for?" he asked as Allie snickered.
"Olive told me about Laura and you," Jennifer said as she crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes a bit.
"You cheated on Olive with Laura?" Allie asked as she peeked around her computer.
"What? No!" Tim protested. "We just had a bet about when John and Jennifer would finally get together!"
Allie's eyebrows shot up and she slipped behind her computer again. "It was nice knowing ya, McGee," she quietly muttered.
