She almost giggles at the look on Arthur's face when he asks if she really talks to them. But she just smiles, and bites her lip to hold back her laughter. She can't laugh at her boss, he probably wouldn't like that very much, or at all. Also, she is a kid, and laughing at her boss is not really the best way in the world to get a job.
"No, no I don't talk to them, not really. Most technopaths control specific electrons mentally, and instructs the the electronics which items to engage or disengage and may be able to use the electric impulses to gently control smaller metal parts. Mine is a little more unique than that, they sing to me. Or rather, they play a specific tune, I play it back and I am able to control it that way. Like um, let me have your cellphone."
Once the cellphone is in her hand, she plugs her earbuds into the headphone jack and puts them into her ears. She closes her eyes and curls her fingers around the small device. Her face is frozen in concentration as she listens. Soon she is softly humming Fur Elise by Beethoven. She flips on the microphone on her earbuds and starts to hum louder, people look over but no one interrupts. Once she gets through most of the song, she stops and opens her eyes. She looks at the phone and makes some trilling noises before turning off her mic. "Ok, your phone is blocked from prying eyes, you can have someone check it if you want, but it's locked down tight. Also, you should answer the text from Soleil, it's rude to keep people waiting."
