11:45 am - [info]femmequixotic - LJ Advisory Board Elections

Many of you are aware of the current LJ Advisory Board election being held. Voting is open until Thursday, May 29. I encourage all of you to take a few moments, read up about the candidates and vote. There are some candidates running who are part of fandom and being able to have a fannish presence on the board is incredibly important, particularly in the wake of Strikethrough and Boldthrough.

If you have already voted, thank you! If you're at a loss as to who some of these candidates even are or why this election matters, here are a few resources that might help explain why fandom needs to support a fandom candidate:

Please, please take the time to go through each of these posts. They're highly informative about what's going on with the election. Once you've decided whom to vote for, you can vote here. The three leading fandom candidates at the moment are [info]legomymalfoy, [info]rm and [info]vichan. Other fandom candidates are [info]daniidebrabant, [info]jmaynard, [info]lordandrei, [info]gfemale, [info]randomposting, [info]sollitaire, [info]tango. Let's get one of our own in a position that might actually have a modicum of influence with LJ staff.

If you've already voted, but you wish to change your vote, you may do so here.

A NOTE: Please do not vote with secondary journals such as RP journals, etc. LJ does have restrictions in place to help prevent stuffing the ballot boxes, and candidates outside of fandom have already accused fandom voters of doing that. Let's keep things on the up-and-up and rely on strength of fandom as a whole. Which means as many of us as possible should get out there to the poll.

Vote.
