Applications are now invited for character roles in the Dark Hope Rising RPG. Please read the following and contact the mod by commenting here if you don't understand.
How to apply for a character role
NOTE: Members of the Live Journal community 'Pornicators' will be given first preference for roles. Any left over will then be offered publicly.
Check the list of characters in the Dark Hope Rising User Info and choose two chars you would be interested in playing. One you will list as your first preference, the other as second preference.
Post your application as a comment under the post in darkhope_rising and include the following information:
Username
First character choice
Second character choice
Email addy
RPG experience (Don't be discouraged if you have not played in a RPG before. Apply anyway.)
Age (This is optional)
Link to your journal
Are you a member or watcher of the Pornicators LJ comm?
Your timezone (e.g. GMT + or - however many hours)
The pairing you usually favour.
Pairings you would not be willing to roleplay.
First posting as your preferred character. (This is where new Rpers can show that they are able to post as their character.)
The moderator/s will then contact you to let you know if you have been accepted as the character you chose. If you need more plot information it will be goven to you then. Ask many questions so that you get a reasonable handle on what your character is doing.
Be aware that there are several Non-Playing roles such as publications editors, journalists and artists. Also, it may be necessary to have standby players to take over a character if a player quits the game for one reason or another. So if you 'miss out' on your preferred character just let the mods know if you want to be a back up for it.
If a character on the list is struck out, that role is already taken.
If you are accepted, you should set up a character journal in GJ. Next, make sure you have friended the darkhope_rising community and any other characters that appear on that flist, as well as the Bulletin Board Community. After that, set yourself up on Yahoo!IM as your character. Remember to use your character name followed by dhr as your ID For example, snapedhr.
Then wait for the announcement that the game is starting. The mods will post the start of term date. There will also be the chance for us all to chat in an informal setting before we start roleplaying. Hopefully plot questions and so forth can be sorted at that time.
EDIT: Applications will be accepted from those outside Pornicators on Tuesday, so if you wnat a character, get in quick.
