"I honestly think anything will be better than what I'm living in now." Deirdre replied with a grin. Irene's happiness at her agreement was infectious. It was going to be such a different situation working for her compared to her current (now former!) supervisor. The very idea that she didn’t have to put up with his lectures and looks and disapproval was enough to lift her spirits. It probably wouldn’t be any safer for her, but life was not safe.
“I know a couple people on the patrol who might be willing to transfer… And be willing to work with me.” Deirdre added. Actually a lot of the people on the patrol respected her abilities, although many of them knew her as part of Ben’s life too. “Monday is fine. Do you want me to come up after first light? Or are you slower to get moving in the mornings?”
