"Think nothing of it." He shook his head, she wasn't to know. "At first, it was very interesting to see how things operated in a world of chaos and entropy, a universe of pure potential."
He ran his finger along the table, picking up grains of salt. "I was a lone force of logic and order in that world. I imposed control on that which surrounded me, by force of will alone, I shaped what was essentially raw material. Like clay, on a universal scale." He pushed the salt grains together, forming a line. "I sealed myself away. Hidden in a corner of the void, indistinguishable from any untouched land on this Earth. Even if you had come back for me, you would not have found me." He withdrew his finger, the salt now pushed into a ring shape.
"But, as a lone force of order, my logical, structured creation was something never meant to exist in that world... It stood out like a beacon in the darkness of his world." With a quick, sweeping motion, he brushed all the salt aside, scattering it.
