He ventured a little closer, spotting the familiar building looming on the horizon to the north of the city where it overlooked the streets below.
He stood at the bottom of the steps that led up to the entrance, not giving much attention to his other surroundings, or the people nearby. At least, until he heard a voice close to him, and one that seemed all too familiar.
And he saw her. That girl who was, even after the near eternity he had spent away, immediately recognisable. He turned to face her, his gaze seeming far softer than it would all those years before.
