Hello all.

So I just posted about the Vini Uehara PB. I'm working on turning him into ex-Slytherin, 27yo Miles Bletchley (even though his 25 year old PB looks about 18, sigh). I'm working on his history and personality, and was hoping to score a few connections to make this work.

A few things I'm thinking of for Miles (recently edited a bit to show updates now that his FULL BIO is fully finished):

Miles was definitely on the DE track as a youth (just like Draco, if a few years older and from a less prestigious family) and had some purism issues
Bisexual, and a little devil may care about it (in fact, a bit of an attitude of "screw tradition and have fun" in general)
Mother Isabella died when Miles was 10 (by suicide, and Miles found her), and after a few years, his father Edward remarried a beautiful younger woman named Marina (potential connection to someone there?) who got pregnant just after he finished Hogwarts
Edward was sent to Azkaban for DE stuff after the BoH, in large part because Miles squealed on him to keep himself out of trouble (and then he took a few months to lay low and practice quidditch in Brazil while things cooled down after the war)
Marina basically told Miles (when he got back) to shape up or ship out because she didn't want Clara corrupted by purism and all the dark and twisties that had basically ruined the Bletchley family thus far, so Miles... reformed (sort of) and threw himself into quidditch
Miles spent a handful of years as a reserve keeper, and only like two years ago got bumped up to first string
He has a soft spot for his his kid sister Clara, is actually on decent terms with stepmom, and outside of quidditch as a hobby, he likes to have fun (i.e., he's a charmer of menfolk and ladies alike)
He has a bit of wangst in his history and in his head (mommy issues, and guilt over what he did in the war, and also over basically selling out his father), and so has decided he just wants to enjoy himself, so he has decided basically not to take anything seriously any more

That's about as far as I've gotten thus far, so I'm looking for connections to help me fill in the details of the last 10 years since Hogwarts. Fellow Slytherins he kept in touch with, new friends, quidditch pals, ex-flings, ex-relationships (few and far between though they may be), family connection through stepmother, etc etc?

Gale Rosier (

galer) would know him from sharing a common room for a short period. He's a Slytherin of 94. Their parents probably have run in the same circles as well so he'd be Gale friendly for the most part. He's related to the Higgs family, Parkinson family, and the Abbot family. So those could be potential family connection?

Alicia Spinnet (

midspin) would know him from Hogwarts quidditch. Likely hated his guts. And let him know it. She played quidditch professionally for Portree up until 2002 when she got kicked out the league for skimming points... while there was never any "viable proof" most people think of her as a cheat turned paparazzi. Her tabloid fun can be found here. She could be a potential fling of some kind... like an angry drunk fire fling. And in the current she'd probably willingly and playfully taunt/flirt with him if they ever crossed paths at public functions.

Seamus Finnigan (

approbation) He's related to the a muggle Finnigan and then the Quigley family through his mother. So if it's cool with Finbar's mun maybe that could be family connection? Additionally, Seamus likely thinks Miles is a twat and doesn't like him in the least. ONe because he's Slytherin. Two because his family is clearly evil. Snort So that can be fun!

Oh! And Ella Guffy-Goldstein (

guffygold) She's married to the Goldstien brood. But she's biologically connected to the Guffy and Babbage families. They're not exactly purebloods anymore but the Guffy's could be a connection distantly. Though her father was a squib so that could make things dramatically difficult for any purist views. Other than a family connection I don't think she'd know Miles on a social scale or anything. haha. But she'd be friendly if they ever run into each other!

Gale - Miles and Gale actually crossed over for 5 years at school, I think. Miles gradded in 96, so they'd know each other there and socially, I'm sure. Friendly works! Also, it's worth mentioning that I just finished editing Miles' history a bit and changed a couple things from the above (will tweak it momentarily). Included is that Miles avoided getting caught and sent to Azkaban for being a DE by turning in his father. I didn't write it in that this was common knowledge or anything, but still. It could be a thing.

Alicia - He made first string for the Falcons in 2003, so he was just a reserve when she got booted. It wouldn't bother him much, so no biggie there. They totally should have had a fling, and be a bit playful with each other now. Definitely works.

Seamus - I do so love Seamus! Also, people probably view the Bletchleys as "clearly evil", but Miles has turned it around a bit, and all that's really left is him, his stepmum, and a 10 year old he thinks is brilliant. But Miles hasn't exactly tried to change the family reputation or anything. He just fucks around. I like the idea of the Quigleys being related to Miles' stepmom, especially as his stepmom was young and married a rich(ish), powerful man for whatever reason, but she wasn't a purist and I figure she has since encouraged Miles to let that prejudice go for Clara's sake.

Ella - I'm up for however many family connections it makes sense to make! I didn't say much about his extended family (either through the Bletchleys or through his stepmom) yet because I was waiting for hits here.

I like all off these things!

Gale - The other thing I forgot to ramble about Gale was he played beater his 4th - 6th year. So 1990-1993 they would have played on the same team if they overlapped any. He didn't take up his position in his seventh year to focus on NEWTS. Because... there were bigger fish catch than playing pro sports. Plus... he wasn't that good. haha. But yes - I could see him liking Miles well enough to keep friendly terms with him. And if the daddy thing were "unspoken" knowledge amongst "high society" types Gale would probably know it through the grapevine. Which he'd figure the kid just needed guidance of some sort. The Rosier's Gale grew up with were totally PRO ministry (regardless of who was in charge) and distanced themselves from open DE activity as much as possible. The way they see it ... money is money.... whether its pureblooded or muggle. Gale's running plot line is he's the guy that convinced Percy Weasley to turn against his Vigilante family in their youth and be pro-ministry! So, that's a thing that might be fun to play with in some way. maybe?

Alicia - Down for this.

Seamus - It would HIGHLY amuse me if they were related through marriage if only so Seamus could/would roll his eyes whenever they attended Quigley family gatherings together. He'd likely make a point to remind everyone present "we're only related through marriage... mmmkay?"

Ella - I'm honestly down for whatever. And it's totally fine if you don't go with an Ella connection. I'm just offering all the thiiings! lol

Woot!

Gale - Okay, cool. I really like all of that, especially him knowing of the Daddy thing and Gale taking that as a sign that Miles needs guidance. And it totally fits with Miles' equal opportunity pleasure principle he's adopting. I could actually see he and Gale getting on well then, with Miles looking up to Gale a bit for his political savvy. Would definitely be fun to play with!

Alicia - Woot! Love it.

Seamus - Awesome. I will make Marina's maiden name Quigley then, and list Seamus as... cousin? The idea of Seamus seeing Miles playing unabashedly with Clara amuses me. Miles in my head is like, a total softie around her, when away from her he's a bit showy and cocky. :) I like this.

Ella - I'm down! I'm just terrible at working out the details of like, extended extended. I swear, the Black family tree still makes me crazy... Since the Bletchleys are pretty purist, his mother was a Rios and her family is mostly in Brazil, and the stepmom is now a Quigley, I'm not quite sure how/where to fit it in!

Gale - Sure! Gale can totally do some "mentor" type of thing with him. Or some such. Gale's pretty easy to push into social "Hey come drink with us!" sort of random things. lol So that.

Alicia - I definitely think the flink would have happened after Alicia was booted from quidditch. One of those "Fuck it all!" sort of scenarios... both figuratively and literally. lol She's a bit of an aggressive and raw human so I suspect amusing things to come from this.

Seamus - He says he knows his playing with his sister all adorable and shiz is all for show! Miles can't fool him!! Expect lots of eye rolling. lol you should bother Kat (fin's mun) on family details and such.

Ella - No worries! I think we have some solid connections with my other three! So no need to force anything at all. haha.

Gale - Sounds great. We'll consider it a friendly and semi-close-ish sort of connection/whatever and go from there! Should be fun.

Alicia - Makes sense. And I srsly can't wait. Love those sorts of... raw/intense sort of dynamics. I'm sure he'll find it quite fun to rib her, especially if she gives it back. Will be amusing fo sho!

Seamus - Also should be amusing! Miles will let Seamus believe what he wants. Will probably make evil-type comments for amusement, too. I expect this to be entertaining. I will bother Kat, but I'm collapsing into bed now so it won't be tonight. Necessary, though, as I feel like the Quigleys are a huge lot and I will need to learn a million details about, haha.

Ella - Okay, sounds good then. We'll leave it at that for now and see what crops up!

So, now I'll bother you before you get to bother me ;)

This is Finbar's family. Or, well, you'll get to it by clicking on Finbar who's right there to the right of Cho. Then if you go to his father, Chullainn Quigley, you'll see that he has loads and loads of sisters. Each of those sisters has a birthyear, so you can pick and choose whichever one you'd like to connect to, and then give her the appropriate title (grandmother, great-gran, whatever) and add a spouse or two :D

Sorry for the delay! I was sick and just couldn't deal with thinking the last day or two.

Thanks for the message! I will do just that! That leaves me a few generations to figure out. Since Chullain only has sisters, I will need to pick a new pureblood last name for a spouse and tie it in that way. I think I might go with the Fawleys just because it's not super common/well-known, and not played in game, unless you have any preferences?

It's cool if I just add a bunch of stuff to that family tree and etc? (I ask as I'm already doing so... XDDD)

The only thing to know about the Fawleys in game is that he has a relative that would work at Fawley & Associates

A private co-op practice that was founded by Sebastian Fawley, although he has since retired. The partners who remain left the name as is because they couldn't reach an agreement on what to change it to and were tired of arguing about it. The overall practice leans toward Women & Children's health, although two of the partners have unique specializations that welcome patients of all genders and races.

We don't have the Fawley relative attachment in game - but that would be a thing if anyone ever picked 'em up.

Of course, of course. How did I space on Fawley & Co, even if there was no Fawley PC. I think it still works, though. When I get home from work, I'll add Sebastian Fawley to the family tree as a random brother with no details, so at least that's there for reference if anyone decides to pick up a Fawley. (Or I can totally just pick a different family name if it'd be better to keep it simpler?)

Also, just before I pass out for the night -- I didn't mention it above initially, but for Gale (who would know the society gossip) and Seamus (who would know the family story) -- Miles' bio mom committed suicide when Gale was 10. He found her on Dec 26th dead in the bathtub. I added/clarified that above, but it wasn't originally there so thought I ought to say so.

	Yes! Presumptuous me already added Adrian because of your comment on my first post, and the obvious Falcons connection. :) And Cho is sort of family by extension as well as school cross over, so they'd for sure know of each other. I need some damn Slytherins. I feel so left out.

Leanne's older family is DE-ish, but it was never this generation's bag, it seems like. But she probably knew him by last name from the very beginning. Plus, SHE KNOWS EVERYONE'S NAME. And she is only a year younger than him. BUT, she is probably a little o_o. She's a goody goody, so she will probably be friendly because he's friends with Adrian! And because... she's kinda bad at being mean.

Justin is two years younger, might know him through Quidditch league healer stuff, but otherwise is a little righteous and might be like hm, Bletchley guy. HE HAS TO SEE HOW HE FEELS!

Juliana is his age! She was a Ravenclaw, but I imagine when she went through her angst and teen rage, she was like HEY SLYTHERINS, you guys are fun. And she also, even though she spends a bunch of time alone, also likes to go cause trouble. She also says she cares about nothing, but cares so much about a handful of things. She wants to hang with him. HANG WITH HER.

Forgive me if my response is a bit choppy. I'm replying from work, tee hee, and my phone does some strange autocorrect things sometimes! But yay Slytherins. You should make one!

Leanne - I don't know much about this character, so will have to read her bio, but if she's from a purist/DE/society family, then they would definitely know each other at least by name. He's a much more personable guy now than he was in school, so he'd be friendly enough. Sometimes a bit shocking or snarky, but mostly he's not too nasty anymore. :)

Justin - They could totally know each other a bit through quidditch healing. As above, Miles isn't totally awful anymore, but definitely was an ass in school, and with some DE stuff after school, and that certainly might have left a sour taste for Justin. We should for sure scene them sometime and see how Justin feels about him. I'm not even quite sure how Miles feels about people now so sounds like a plan!!

Juliana - They should be friends then! He needs more friends. They could be party buddies and stuff. Not sure what kind of history you're interested in, how close and etc, but they could have fooled around at some point perhaps if she's that sort. If not, just buds? Either way!! They can pretend not to care about stuff together. XDDD

Leanne will probably be friendly if Adrian is close to him, plus that also means she probably went to every single game he played in school and professionally because she was there for Adrian. She'll chat!

Justin has lightened up a lot, too. So we'll see how they interact!

Jules is like let's complain and be apathetic together. Sad parent-less kids. She could totally have been like... she thought he was a jerk when they were younger, but then as she went through a little more angst and issues and kinda got mad and wanted to have more fun, she was like "Hey, Bletchley. I hate you. Let's go break something." I would love if they were close - she needs more friends that aren't related to her. And I'm sure, if he was up for it, totally would've fooled around with him. She shows her love by being a jerk (and occasionally showing sweetness), so watch out!

Leanne - Sounds good. Having done a teeny bit of homework, I have a feeling she's mostly in "little sister" land in Miles' head as well. Though not actually, of course, so there's some flexibility. I just mean that he will likely be friendly-ish, but certainly not take her seriously.

Justin - Sounds good! We shall play it by ear.

Jules - They could totally be close and basically be destructive shits together at times. Maybe they've fooled around or whatever at some points in the past, but if they're actually friends, he'd totally blow it off and etc so as not to complicate things. He shows his love very similarly, I expect, so they seem like they'll get on well! And who knows where things might go. :)
