So HEY, this is Em and I'm working on Marietta. (I have to finish running through and revising and updating her old profile, but it's in this journal so take a peek please!) And I need connections! So far I have:

- Cho, bestie (obviously)
- Megan, at least coworker but possibly partner I think we were going with? Shall we just say partner? Theirs is the dynamic that crime shows are made of, they're practically Rizzoli and Isles (note: I will be okay if you don't want them to be partners, you have a say in things too, I'm not a crappy person and I'll still play with you, etc etc I'm just excited)

And I need at least one more!

Marietta is
- A Hogsmeade native
- Hitwitch (so DMLE peeps)
- Ravenclaw class of... '97?
- DA alum, "betrayed" them, yadda yadda but she had her reasons, they're explained in the profile

Personalitywise she is a black-and-white thinker, all about rules, judgmental, feminine, romantic. Loyal to Law And Order above everything, loyal to her family next of all, though Cho's pretty high up there too. It's kind of hard to explain so I hope she's not coming across as totally awful in the profile because honestly I don't think she's a total stick in the mud or anything and lacking in humor.

She has an older brother who is also a hitwizard, a little brother who's IDEK what, she's a cousin of Jimmy Peakes (whose hitwizard father tragically died in the Battle of Hogwarts, more in profile) and basically she has a ton of DMLE/Ministry family ties.

She's also flipping adorable (though this is not helpful for being a hitwitch) and has some amazing puppy-dog eyes. Please plot with me!

Marietta!!!! Lol I love that more law enforcement types are coming!!!

Susan would know her from the DA and from being around the DMLE office while interrogating perps and things with her obliviator abilities. I think she'd be cordial, but she wouldn't trust her in the least. lol

Ella might know her through Cho? Maybe only friendly acquaintances. But she'd be Ella-y toward her.

If Marietta and Megan are a team she may have some sort of connection to Edmund Bulstrode. We haven't worked all the details out quite yet - but ultimately Megan's suspicious of him and causes him general annoyance. Likely random searches and annoying cop bully things. So if there's two of them - expect inappropriate lesbian jokes.

Alicia would know her from the DA - probably wouldn't trust her. But WOULD pretend to be friends with her to get information from public DMLE cases. "For old times sake." And "Wouldn't you rather the truth be told instead of the lies?"

Gale and Philip probably don't know her in the least.

Yes! And hopefully we'll get more. Marietta's older brother is too and I could see her cousin being in there... His side of the family is the one with the MLE legacy, Peakes should be a well known name for them.

Marietta is side eying Susan because she had her memory wiped and Susan is the one not trusting?? Haha.

Hmmmm interesting! I was going to offer her uncle for Edmund to kill in the boh too but Idk if I should hold that in case we get someone else who wants to be a baddie? Either way Idk if Marietta herself would be a bully but if there was a technically lawful reason she'd go along with it. People have rights and cops need to follow the rules just as much as anyone!

Haha well we'll see how successful Alicia is at that! I'm not sure.

Ooh! I'm going to jump on this, because:

a) Marietta! I love that character and pretty much any take on her betrayal (or 'betrayal') and
b) I need a connection for a girl I'm fitting to the game, and Marietta is *just* the girl I need for that :P

Meet Melinda Bobbin, Hufflepuff, 1997, and Cho's cousin. She and Cho are close, so I was thinking/hoping that she and Marietta could be friends, too?

Ooh yes I like! Marietta I think would get along fine and wishes she had stayed out of the DA like Melinda did. Friends works fine!

Marietta's dad works at a hogsmeade bakery BTW... Well by now he might be manager at least. But if you want Melinda to have worked there a while I think that could be fun! Marietta is more a social Baker than anything else herself, she'll get together with gran and make biscuits or dad and make bread, and she'll make things for friends but its not something she spends a lot of time on.

	YAY! I will make a note of Marietta's dad, and then see about incorporating it in Melinda's history, because that could work. Also, with Marietta's judgmental nature, I can see Melinda seeking her out for opinions on her newest creations, and yes, that is Melinda seeing the best in everybody. 	Well, Marietta is judgmental but she also values manners highly. Her judging is more about Right and Wrong, I think? But I haven't ever been able to play her for long, so there's room for things to change as I go. And she would be happy to give any opinions especially if she got samples out of it. :) (Reply to this) (Parent)

Sorry for the slow response! I managed to injure myself, and sore arms make it hard to type.

The only reason I hesitate about partners is because of the connection with Harry and Megan bringing him in as kind of an unofficial partner, because I'm quite sure Marietta would not be kosher with that sort of rule breaking. BUT, perhaps Megan didn't have a partner at the time? And it was decided she needed a partner to curb such behavior, so they stuck her with the most by-the-book person they could find? I can definitely see that happening.

	Oh no I'm sorry! I hope you feel better soon! I think that would be perfect! They definitely don't need to have been partners for their entire career or anything. :) When was the Harry and Megan crime fighting duo active, and how recently would you like her to have been stuck with Marietta? I don't know why it took my a week to respond to this. I am sorry I'm a disorganized nutter.

The first thing that comes to mind is that Harry doesn't like her. And depending on when she and Megan became partners, that could have contributed to his decision to stop ~trying~ in terms of being a real crime solver. Doesn't have to be a factor if you don't want it to, just could see it as one....

Next, Jackie's assistance at the Ministry in evaluations of the DMLE staff... Based on her "blue bloods"esque background of "i'm a cop, my dad was a cop, my brothers/cousins/etc are cops" kind of thing, she definitely be a candidate for regular evals, especially given that one of those cop family members has died ~on the job~. That said, Jackie doesn't have to have all the patients so she could easily be another shrink's client if you prefer.

I think that Jace would like her logic-based thinking style, but I have no idea how they would know each other so... um, fuck.

Roger asked her on a date after Cho said no when they were in school. It wouldn't have been a "second choice" kind of thing, though I could see why she might take it that way. He's not always cognizant of how his actions might make other people feel. He wouldn't have had hard feelings if she said now. He'd have asked her out again as adults. He probably will again. Gotta love those curls.

Hannah would have forgiven her because Hannah forgives most people. And from personal experience she knows that you never can be sure what motivates peoples choices, so she tries not to take actions at face value. Their house/year separation makes me think they probably aren't close, but Marietta is on the DA holiday card list, and if Hannah knows Marietta's job then her personal note in the card always says something along the lines of "thank you for what you do for all of us, please stay safe!"

Oliver wouldn't know who she was. She didn't play Quidditch so she didn't register on his radar at school, and as an adult he's been pretty content with his writer's hermitage and bar fights... I suppose it's possible they could have gotten out of hand and he could have been arrested a few times? In which case he'd probably not like the fact that he can't charm his way out of an arrest/ticket with her.

Oh, hey you! Took me a minute to find this, I thought it was on the OOC post. :) No worries though, we're all kinda disorganized (except maybe Amber).

Megan and Marietta actually became partners after Harry gave up! Or, well, Megan was stuck with Marietta because of all the rulebreaking she was doing to get Harry in, so I assumed that he gave up, Megan was like WTF, and then their superiors were like, here have a new partner who won't let you cause trouble.

BLUEBLOODS yes I totally hadn't thought of that but that's totally what her family is! :D And yes, I'm totally up for regular evals with Jackie, that would be awesome.

And I REALLY need to get to bed now but I will hit you up on the rest of them tomorrow!
