"Either way, I'll tell you all about it tomorrow." The wall opened and then shut behind her, Alina racing through the passages. And then there she was, feet away from Nikolai's room.
A deep breath and then she plunged forward, the hidden entrance inside his rooms swinging silently open as Alina carefully stepped out. She wouldn't call his name just yet in case someone else was there. And yet his outer rooms were empty. Which meant that if he were anywhere it would be his bedroom. If he wasn't there, she'd just have to wait, she supposed. Because there was no way she was going back with her tail between her legs.
