Justin had solved his third piece of baggage. The little silver pocket mirror that was his grandmother’s, was now Demelza’s. He had given it to her as soon as it appeared when his baggage popped open. The shack couldn’t have come at a better time either. It was still bitterly cold outside and the fishing wasn’t going very well. While Justin would move his ice-fishing shack and drill new holes, he had preferred using a net on the open sea...when it wasn’t frozen over.
So, hiding from the weather, it was after work had ended and Demelza came by with food and her photo album. They were wrapped up in the queen-sized cot under blankets and just looking at picture after picture of their future selves, their future daughter, notes that Demelza had written on the back of each photograph. Justin was playing with her hair, getting thoughtful and tight in the chest when he’d seen a picture of all three of them when he was aware that Demelza was speaking to him. “I’m sorry love, what was that? I was miles away.”
-----------------
Demelza wasn’t going to hold it against Justin to badly for not paying attention to her. With the weather taking a turn for the worse, it was hardly a nice time for any of them, let alone someone like Justin who struggled when he was unable to work. While the hut had provided them with a temporary ray of sunshine, it still served as a reminder that they could not yet truly live as a couple, despite the fact they were essentially engaged to be engaged. That being said, it was hardly easy on Demi too. While she loved their wednesday nights, it was getting increasingly frustrating for her that she could only sleep next to the man she loved for one night a week.
Resolving to try and cheer up both of their moods, she had picked up various foods from the diner that she thought might cheer him up, and the photo album for good measure. She hoped that by giving him a glimpse of what they were working towards, it might help lift his mood about their situation. “I was saying, if we end up having a big house like the one in the picture, then you better hire me a cleaner. Even with magic, I think it would be a full time job to keep that place neat and tidy” Frowning slightly, she placed the album to one side and turned to face him properly. “What is wrong? I can tell when your brain is ticking over something”
-----------------
The shack provided privacy and more warmth than the huts, even with lots of warming charms. Every night, Justin hated seeing Demelza go into the bitter cold, not to mention that he’d gotten used to sleeping beside her more often than not. They spent as much time as they could together before she had to go every evening, that helped, and so did all the treats she brought that night.
He’d turned his head to listen and actually pay attention to what Demelza had been saying when he chuckled lightly afterwards. “Don’t worry. Mother always had a small platoon at the family home. I’d imagine ours would be smaller but more of the same.” From the pictures they were looking at, it looked like a rather large, posh house...with toys everywhere, pictures of their family and friends on the walls, it looked like paradise to Justin. “It’s only… all of this.” He waved his hand toward the album she’d set aside and remembered a picture of Isabel laughing with Demelza. “All our baggage, I tried to solve mine to be a better man. The way I see it, from all of this, I’m only wondering why we’re still here.”
It was a rather serious question and one he’d been pondering even before the weather had turned from sweltering to freezing.
-----------------
“Good, because I do not want to turn into one of those boring desperate housewives. I think I would lose my mind if I had to clean all day, I am shit enough at keeping my flat clean, I would be truly awful in a place like that” she laughed. That being said, the house had looked truly gorgeous. Demi knew that truthfully if it needed her to spend day and night keeping it look nice, then that was a sacrifice she was more than willing to make for her future family.
Demelza couldn’t help but sigh at what Justin said about the island. It wasn’t that she thought he was wrong, far from it, it was a thought that she too had shared in her darker moments as she was forced to walk back to her hut after spending an evening in his arms. While she knew what the island was, the importance of what they were doing, it did not make it any easier. Every part of her ached for the life that was shown in the pictures, despite knowing of the heartache and hard times they would be forced to endure to get to that point. “Me too….I mean I know why we are here, but it does not make it any easier. If anything it has gotten harder since you got the shack, that is why I am working so hard on trying to sort out my baggage” Reaching out, Demelza ran a hand down Justin’s face, gently caressing it. “I have had a taste now of the life that we could be living, and I just feel so conflicted”
-----------------
“I would make it my life’s mission to make sure you’re never one of those bored housewives.” Suddenly, Justin had remembered a video that one of his muggle co-workers had sent him back home - of a father who had filled his entire home to make it a ball-pit for his children while his wife was away. The thought brought a giant smile to his face and he had to laugh.
He needed that laugh too before they’d moved on to more serious topics. “I know, love.” Justin leaned over and kissed her forehead, savoring every moment. He swallowed heavily because he too knew what they were there for, but knowing now what he could have with Demelza after the heartbreak. It didn’t exactly feel worth the risk of dying there on the island, or being separated, having one of them just snatched off the island without warning. “What’s really holding us back then? I know it would be shite if we went back. We wouldn’t remember any of this.” Justin rested his forehead against Demelza’s and continued. “We’d have to go through so much, but is it much different from what we’re going through here? And the reward is greater. We have a life.”
-----------------
“I am sure you would” she winked, before teasingly kissing Justin on the lips. She had no doubt that any future life with Justin would be anything but boring. Apart from anything else, Justin himself was not good with doing nothing, so that brought reassurances as well.
When Justin started talking that way, Demi couldn’t help but look at him in shock. Sure she had thought briefly like that herself, but Justin seemed so serious in what he was saying. “You do realise what you are saying right? I mean essentially…..we have to die here to become those people” She wasn’t saying no, it was more that she wanted to check what he was saying first and she wasn’t getting it wrong. “I mean, I am hardly saying no, but it’s a big thing to think about” she said biting her lip
-----------------
His laughter died off but he still smiled at her, dreaming up the ways he would keep her on her toes. Vacations, christening every damn room in that huge house, surprising her in every way possible. It would not be boring in the slightest.
When she’d said that they would have to die, he raised his eyebrows, not sure if she was aware of the island’s boundaries like he was. “I don’t think so, love. In a way, maybe… the people we’ve become here would die but...I had to be very careful when I was fishing because, if I had drifted too far away from the island, I would have been brought back to the time where Delphine plucked me from.” That was his understanding of it all, but he could be wrong. “Though… if we had to, I would still do it.” Justin took Demelza’s hand and kissed her palm, his eyes closed tight and just letting all of the pictures spool through his mind of the life they could have.
-----------------
“I know that we won't literally die, and that we will just end up back on the other side…….. It’s just the Demi and Justin we are here will never be” she sighed, trying her best to get her head around what he was saying. When he made the point about the fishing though, she knew he was right. It was something that regularly filled her with dread, as if anything was going to happen to either of them, then due to his job it would be more likely to happen to him. “Justin, the thought of being here on this island without you terrifies me every time you get on that boat on that boat every morning. I could not honestly say I would not seriously consider leaving myself, if anything was to happen to you”
Wrapping her arms tightly around Justin's torso, she buried her head in his chest, trying her best to ward off the demons that were creeping up.
-----------------
“Yes, that’s true. I may even be more of a prat than I usually am.” A half-hearted smile crossed his face knowing that the real world Justin could be an ass at times, but he must not have been too far gone to have ended up married to Demi in the long run. “I am very careful. I don’t know what I’d do if you weren’t here either, or if something were to happen. This place just seems hopeless at times, frightening even.”
Justin held her close and tight, buried under mounds of blankets and whispered in her hair. “What does your heart tell you? If I asked you right now to leave with me in the morning, knowing we would never remember this, each other, and would have to endure two years of struggle but end up with a life we always wanted?” The choice was more than a little bit easy for him, and that’s what scared him, made him feel so infinitely guilty. Susie had just been taken, many had been taken, and if he left...Hannah would be left alone. Ernie and Megan were both so busy and Justin was already feeling the guilt for being so selfish as to want that happy life in the photo album. “I love you, so much.” His words were muffled by her hair, her skin that was warm despite the deadly cold outside the shack and Justin only clung to Demelza in the cot.
-----------------
Demi couldn’t help but laugh a little when Justin made his comment about his outside world self, being more of a prat then he usually is. “Do you really think any version of me, would honestly not call you out on that if you were?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I know, trust me. The first few months of me being here, I mostly spent my time and resources trying to drink myself to death. You met me when I had already started improving, but my first few months here were an incredibly dark time for me, I know how hopeless this place feels” Demelza hated to think of herself how she was before she arrived on the island, and just after she had arrived here. She knew that it was very un-Gryffindor of her, but the thought of having to battle those demons yet again were incredibly difficult for her. When Justin posed his question though, she couldn’t help but admit that the thought was more than tempting. It was something that she had considered herself multiple times more Justin’s arrival, but there was something that always held her back.
Justin’s question had initially taken her back a little, so she laid in silence for a moment as she debated her response. “While I would like to say that I would stay here on the island and try to become a better person………What I honestly know though, is that the larger part of me would be tempted to follow you into the sunset, especially knowing the life that we would eventually have together” she sighed, running her hand through her hair thinking of the implications of what she was saying. “I know that we end up together, but the thought of not remembering this, of not remembering you, of not getting to wake up next to you even if it's only one day a week…..Well, it’s heartbreaking” she whispered against his chest.
-----------------
“No. I’m actually hoping for it… and for more fun opportunities to have you call me out on it.” Hence his brain returned to the whole home ball-pit scenario.
Justin’s stomach was clenching, thinking of how much turmoil Demelza had gone through when she’d first arrived on the island. But then she was able to overcome it and Justin was beyond proud of her - she was even able to slap some sense into him too - quite literally. “I can only imagine, Demi. When I’d arrived, I was injured and waking up with nothing, except for a handful of friends...selfishly devoid of any luxury that I was used to, it was all humbling.” So they each got taught a valuable lesson, but knowing what he knew now, he pined for the future. They could conceivably have that life on the island, but with everything happening at any given moment, it was all very risky.
Still clinging to her and listening to her reasoning, it was all the same thoughts he was having about his proposed scenario. “I wish there was a way we could remember everything that happened here too.” He then took her hand and placed it on his chest so she could feel his heart hammering away, like he’d just run a marathon. “Just thinking about the whole thing makes me nervous and fearful, heartbroken but hopeful. I want to meet our daughter, I want that life...it’s terribly selfish of me, I know...but you just look so damn happy in those pictures, and I’d like to give you that.”
-----------------
-
Demelza fixed a mock serious look on her face, before putting her hand on Justin’s shoulder reassuringly. “Trust me when I say this, but I will always call you out on your shit, no matter what”
The smile that had cracked on her face though, slowly started to fade at their next topic of conversation. “You are not selfish Justin, I want all of those things desperately too. I want to be able to spend proper time with you, go on god honest normal dates, eat at a real restaurant or stay in a real bed with you all day and not have to simply make do with stolen moments all the time” she sighed. As much as she wanted to talk Justin out of his mad idea, she could not help but feel herself being talked around by him. It was not hard though, as while she wouldn’t admit it out loud just yet, she had been feeling the same way for the while. The album had served as a reminder of her life back away from the island, a life that was increasingly tempting by the moment.
It wasn’t even the pictures of her future life with Justin that was tempting her, the pictures of her family had given her an overwhelmingly homesick feeling too.
“So, theoretically….if we were to follow through on this mad idea. Where, when and how would we do this?”
-----------------
“Thank you. I knew I could count on you.” Justin gave her a small wink, glad of the cheeky grin on her face and the reassuring hand on his shoulder that she would prevent him from being a complete arse.
Demelza listed so many thing that he’d wanted to do for her but was hindered by the island in general. “I would love to be able to do all of those things as well, and we can...it just comes at a steep price.” Pulling back, Justin ran a hand through her long dark hair, calming the excited yet anxious feeling banging around in his chest. “I’ve loved every second here with you, getting to know you, taking you to all my secret hideaways...falling in love with you even before I’d seen the pictures in the album. And even though it will break my heart to forget, and it’s giving me heart palpitations right now… I’m ready to have that future with you.”
It was with a heavy sigh that Justin thought it over for a moment - he’d previously prepared to leave should there have been an emergency, but he didn’t count on the weather taking the kind of turn that it did. “Well, if it were not freezing as hell outside, we could have just taken the fishing boat to the borders and leave. But seeing as everything is ice, and my boat is now a shack….we could most-likely walk across the ice to the borders.”
-----------------
Demelza chewed on her lip as she contemplated the gravity of everything they were discussing. The conversation had made her head feel like was being weighed down. While she had always thought that she would stay on the island if Justin would have been taken, now faced with the reality of a Justin free existence, she knew she just couldn’t do it. For the first time in a long time, she felt like she had some sort of meaning and purpose when she was with Justin, something she was not prepared to live without a moment more. The talking had left her feeling numb, from the overload of both happy and sad emotions she was feeling at once. After a few painstaking moments had passed after he had shared his plan, she nodded her head feebly at his plan. The only thing that was keeping her going was the thought that one day, in a few years from now for her, and a matter of months for him, they would be back together.
“While I know that we won’t remember our time here together…………I do know that until we are back together again I will not feel complete” she whispered gently caressing his face, taking in every detail like it was the last time she was going to see him. Leaning forward she pressed a desperate kiss to his lips, aching to feel close to him for one last time before they were separated.
-----------------
Justin’s mind was racing as he watched her, obviously thinking hard about what he’d said. He wouldn’t blame her a bit if she didn’t go along with this crackpot scheme. But in the long run, with all the risks in front of them, or faced with Delphine just separating them on a whim, Justin would always choose them taking matters and their future in their own hands. He was nearly in tears waiting for her reaction, whichever way she chose, all he had going through his head were pictures of their daughter, wondering what her laugh sounded like, wondering what his and Demi’s wedding day was like, just everything he wanted to know and they couldn’t find out unless they left.
When she’d finally spoken and essentially lunged for him, he grabbed her right back, kissing her with an equal amount of passion and wanting every spare second to be spent with her being this close, or closer. Like, if they were to meld together with every emotion they were feeling - perhaps they would remember something after leaving. “I know… I know you have a longer wait than I do, love… oh my God are you sure?” When Demelza said she wouldn’t be complete, he felt a hole missing in his chest, mimicking the loss he was beginning to acutely stab at him.
This was huge, and if they were to be separated for such a long period of time, and not even remember, Justin was going to try his damnedest to burn the fucking shack down with what was about to happen. “Don’t fret, please? Everything will be fine and if you still want to change your mind, I’ll stay….we’ll stay. But if you’re sure….I love you so much…” Justin’s words were hushed and raspy with emotion when he’d taken her in his arms again, his hands moving from being woven in her hair to grasping at what little clothing she was wearing to keep warm under the blankets.
“Wait….” he said suddenly, reaching under the cot for something he had bought at the shops - he’d traded in the engagement ring he’d gotten as a baggage reward….for a new one. “I know you can’t take it with you, but you should at least have it for one night. Demelza, will you marry me?”
-----------------
Demelza’s mind was set. Justin was totally right in everything that he had said about Delphine, about the island. While they were on the island, either of them could be taken at any minute, with no guarantee of ever being reunited on the island. She had watched it happen so frequently, especially recently, with people disappearing without so much as a chance to say goodbye. If there was even the smallest chance they were going to be taken, then she would much rather they go out on their own terms, together.
Justin’s observations about her waiting longer than him were all things she had thought of, all things she had considered in the past. “The way I see it, I was brought to this island as I was not a good person, I needed to learn to take care of myself and face my problems. I know that while I am not completely perfect as a person yet and will still carry baggage, that those years for me until we are back together will be when I become the person I need to be. The person that you need to pick you back up when you hit your low.” When she was done saying her piece, she could feel Justin’s begin to wander across her skin. Closing her eyes, she tried her best to take in every feeling and sensation as his fingers danced across her skin for the very last time on the island.
When Justin told her to wait, she was more than shocked. Justin had never been one to slow things down when they were about to tear each other’s clothes, and she certainly hadn't expected it on their last night of all nights. When Justin produced a ring for her, her eyes started filling to the brim with tears of joy. After staring at the ring silently crying tears of joy for a few seconds, she feebly nodded her head. “Of course I will…..in this reality and any that I know you”
-----------------
Justin knew that she was right, on both of their accounts. He had tried so hard to make amends with his friends with the way he’d disappeared after Megan had died. Ernie… well, with being a mentor and all, was difficult to pin down. Zach had been taken before Justin could even speak with him properly… and Susie was gone now too. Hannah had been the only one of his friends that he connected with on the island, and the fact that they had been hutmates and arrived on the same day helped, that and Hannah as always a very forgiving, loving person, “And that good person saw fit to see the person I had become - from the car wreck, to being deathly ill, cheated on… and that’s even after I was a complete wretch to my friends. But from the memory of my first wedding, it looks as if they’d forgiven me.” Still, with all their happiness in this moment, planning and being so goddamn nervous, Justin felt very guilty leaving Hannah and just prayed she wouldn’t hate him when she found out.
Demelza, at first, was looking at him like he’d lost his ever-loving mind. Putting the brakes on love-making like that, but it was incredibly important. Justin sat there, leaning on his elbow and watching Demelza silently sobbing before she’d agreed to marry him, in any possible reality. Gently, he’d taken her hand placed the ring on her finger, kissing it afterwards and then wiped her tears away one by one. “I don’t know what I would have done if you weren’t here. I love you.” Then he was kissing her, pulling her close so that they were skin to skin, and the clothing that they had been wearing was cast aside like so much rubbish. Justin didn’t dare closes his eyes - not even for a second. Firstly, because he wanted to see her, memorize every curve, every expression...he wanted it burned into his mind. And secondly, he was so incredibly frightened that Delphine would have overheard everything they’d said, everything they’d planned on doing and spite Justin by taking her away right from under his touch.
-----------------
Demi shook her head at what Justin had said, she had no clue at why he was always so negative about himself all the time. Sure, he had lost his way for a while, but who of them on the island had not? The whole reason they had all been brought there was to battle their demons, so that they might return to the real world one day and can fulfil their potential. “Justin, when will you see that you are a good person. You were just brought here so that you could go from a good person to an even better one” she rationalised.
When Justin held out the ring towards her, she just sat sobbing quietly, tears streaming down her face in shock and happiness as she watched him put the ring on her finger. Sure, it was quite soon for him to be proposing, but at the end of the day they knew they ended up together. Hell, that was the reason they were leaving the island after all. When his hand moved up to her face to wipe away the tears, she closed her eyes for a moment savouring the feeling of his hand against her face for possibly the last time on the island. “You forget that I spent a long time on this island lost too, I did not even start solving my baggage until you turned up……we saved each other love” she whispered.
When Justin pulled her close and their clothes were discarded out of the cot, Demelza sighed happily knowing what was about to happen next. If they were to be separated by space and time, for so long (especially in her time), then she wanted to be as close to him as humanly possible for their time left on the island. Wrapping her arms around him, her hands moved across his skin trying to take in every detail of their last night together, despite knowing that it would be soon forgotten. “Just think, whether we remember anything about this place or not, the next time we do this it will be in a real bed……at least I hope it will be” she laughed, suddenly doubting herself mid sentence.
-----------------
Justin really didn’t know how he could be such a good person when he’d all but abandoned his friends when they needed him. But he’d done his best, especially with everyone on the island having moved on, busy and working. He sighed and leaned his forehead against Demelza’s, wondering if his friends would miss him, even just a little when he left. “I know I’ve made progress, but I never had a chance to make amends. I hope that all I’ve done here reflects those intentions.”
Demi’s tears clung to his fingers while she spoke the absolute truth. Justin himself didn’t solve his baggage until they’d found each other either. “We did at that, and we’ll do it again...watch and see.” In their future they had pain, heartbreak and illness to deal with, but they’ll manage to save each other yet again.
Justin’s arms were very busy, as was his mouth, kissing Demelza with all that he had while his hands memorized everything about her gorgeous body pressed up against him. He could feel her nimble fingers moving across his skin to do the exact same thing, sending shivers down his spine and arousing him further. He did laugh though, thinking that perhaps they’d actually have a normal bed to frolic in - but, this was them they were referring to. “Um, love…. I would have you anywhere, at any time. Who knows, could even be like two randy teenagers in one of my cars. Though, they’re mostly two-seaters.” He joked and bumped his nose with hers, still keeping his eyes open and kissing a trail down her neck when his hands found the plump, heavy weight of her breasts. It was all too exciting and emotional all at once, setting Justin’s heart to beat in triple-time, wanting her so badly it hurt but also wanting her to be able to stay all through the night.
-----------------
“Justin, they know you, they know it is not something you would have done lightly. Anyway, they will probably just think we have been taken like the rest of them” This thought hurt her a little, knowing that to her friends like Freddie she will just be one yet another person who would have disappeared come morning. She knew though that like she had done when her friends had disappeared, they would find a way to cope and move on. When Justin made his comment about the two of them helping each other she smiled at him. “I have faith in us. Despite not knowing of our future off of the island, we found and saved each other, we can do it again” she said reassuring him.
The passion of his kiss reminded her a lot of those first time together. Unadulterated passion with the desperate need to just be close to one another. This time though, there was something more. This time there was a undercurrent of trepidation for what was about to come, and desperation to be together for the last time in a long time. The seriousness of the situation was lightened though when Justin made her laugh with his comment. “You make a very good point, but I would have thought they would have been sacred” she teased.
Demi sighed happily as Justin began kissing a trail down her neck. While she knew of the hardships ahead for them both, the thought that one day the two them would be able to be together as a proper couple was reason enough to leave. Her hand trailed down his back, gently caressing every new patch of skin she came across, as she arched into his ministrations.
-----------------
Demelza was right - they knew that Justin had done all he could, and had made at least a small amount of headway. He loved his friends dearly, and he would in the future as well, but the thought of beginning his new life with Demelza was far too tempting to stay on the island any longer.
Justin was focusing all his attention on devouring and cherishing Demelza in between his small jokes. Her laughter was like music to his ears, making him smile against her skin. “Mmmmm well I love you, I love cars… all we need is some music and it would be pure heaven.”
The kisses he was placing were long and soft, enjoying the familiar taste of her skin, wanting more of her. For a moment, he pulled back and only watched her eyes, finally leaning down to kiss her slowly, letting his tongue dart out to search her mouth. He was fully aware of Demi’s hands searching his body, running down his back, causing him to sigh into the kiss when he could feel the heat from between her legs. Everything they were doing was heightened and charged with a nervous electricity.
-----------------
“But I cannot imagine it would be very comfortable though?” She asked, unsure of how it would work in a car, especially a small two seater one. “I mean there also wouldn’t be much room to move around would there?”
Demi could feel her cheeks begin to flush a bright red, when Justin pulled back to watch her for a moment. While she was excited for what was about to come, both now and in the future, she could not help feel a tinge of sadness at their situation. If this was going to be their last night together, she planned on savouring it as much as possible. When Justin finally leaned in to kiss her, she groaned softly into his mouth as her tongue sought out his. Her hands gently ran across his skin, gently teasing his skin with her nails. Starting to feel a more burgeoning need for Justin, she wrapped a leg around his hip to try and bring him closer.
-----------------
“True, but, just think about how close we’d be?” Limited space meant for close contact. He actually did have one car with a back seat, but thinking about Demi on his lap in the Spyder was giving him a rush.
Demelza was so beautiful, her skin pink with a blush, even though she wasn’t smiling. Justin felt a sense of loss creeping up and he shoved it to the very back of his mind, trying his very best to give her a night to remember. Her fingernails raked gently across his back when he’d invaded her mouth sweetly. A low soft moan was passed from Justin’s mouth to Demi’s, with his hand gripping the thigh she’d wrapped around his waist. Usually he’d take his time, giving each bit of her body a turn to be worshipped - that night though, it was going to happen all at once.
He was achingly hard, it was almost painful and Justin needed her, even close to tears knowing he’d not remember this. With one hand, Justin reached between them, slowly teasing between Demi’s legs until he’d gripped himself and pressed deep inside her, moaning at the feeling of her surrounding his arousal. “You’re my heaven, do you know that?” Justin lingered, not moving and only kissing her. Justin’s heart was beating hard and he knew Demelza could feel it, as he could feel hers beating in time with his.
-----------------
“Let’s face it, no matter what I might say now, we both know that you will find a way of talking me around. You normally do” Demi had to admit she was curious about how it would work, having never tried it herself in the past. Frankly, if she was with Justin, she was open to the idea of pretty much most things and couldn’t help but feel excited at what was to come.
She couldn’t help but let out a soft moan as he gripped her thigh, holding her tightly in place against him. Her whole body was aching so badly to be joined with him in the intimate dance they had both come to know so well. After what felt like a decade, much to her relief he pushed inside of her. The feeling was so delicious that she couldn’t help but let out a load moan against his lips.
When he spoke, his words caught her off guard and she could feel tears starting to well in her eyes. The thought of what they were going to do tonight, despite the rewards that awaited them was hard enough. Him saying something like that? Well it was almost enough to make her want to beg him to stay and never leave. “I love you so much” she whispered softly against his lips. Her heart was beating fiercely at the thought of everything that was yet to come, and she could feel hers beating as hard. Feeling the burgeoning need to be closer to Justin in every way she could, she gently started thrusting her hips against his.
-----------------
“Hmmm, perhaps I should have been a lawyer if I’m that convincing. Then again, I don’t think I have the stomach for all the conflict.” Justin was confident he would have been able to coax Demi into a late-night car necking if he had the chance.
Demi’s lips almost vibrated against his mouth when she’d moaned at his entry. Justin himself was breathing hard and keeping his composure as best he could. It was all very emotionally charged. He could tell it was for Demelza as well, his words had brought tears to her eyes and he’d be lying if he said his sinuses weren’t stinging as well. “Don’t cry, love… just think about our life, our daughter. I love you so very much.” Justin could see her pulse driving in her neck as he kept up his slow thrusting pace, even when she met him with her hips.
Justin held her tight, almost too much, he himself could barely breathe in between their movements, the pleasure, the heartache he knew he was going to feel when they left. “You’re my future, it will all be worth it…. oh God…” he moaned with a rasp in his voice seeing her face beautifully twisted in pleasure and pain. His hips moved only slightly faster, wanting to prolong everything - his hands all over her body and ending up propped on his elbows. With one hand wound in her hair, his other held her hips pressed against his as they rocked together. He was getting close and everything started to surge forward, and he cursed himself and slowed - she felt too good and was able to stave off his orgasm for a while longer.
-----------------
“While i am sure it would have been a good fit for that, you have a conscience and I am sure that would have held you back at intervals too”
“I’m fine….honest” she whispered. Quickly wiping the tears from her eyes, Demi tried her best to compose herself once more, not wanting to ruin the night for them. The sad tinge to the night started to fade though as his thrusts began to get quicker. He felt so bloody good, and while she wanted this to go on all night, she knew realistically with how badly she needed the release, it would be much sooner. Groaning quietly at the feeling of him teasingly thrusting into her, she wasn’t sure how much more she could take.
While she was enjoying the feeling of him thrusting against her, there was something missing from the whole evening. It was all to…..controlled and not the passionate embraces that they normally enjoyed. “Please…..just lose control” she pleaded. Reaching up, she pulled him down in a hungry kiss, desperate to feel their mouths locked in a passionate battle once more. Her hands started roaming his body, in a frantic quest to feel every last part of him, trying to burn the memory of tonight into her mind, even though she knew it would all be wiped in a matter of hours.
-----------------
Justin kissed her when she’d wiped away her tears, all thoughts of getting frisky in one of his cars was gone, he was lost in the moment they were in. He was going agonizingly slow and loving it, but there was something to be said about reckless abandon, and Demelza had seemed to read his mind. Pleading for him to let go, to lose all control gave him the green light and something in him dissolved, desire and raw passion took over, letting the fire inside loose.
The kissing turned hard and heated, hands were everywhere and at one point Justin twined both his hands with Demelza’s, holding her wrists down and pistoning himself inside of her at a rapid, pounding pace. “Fuck Demi… you shouldn’t encourage me in such a way, love…” A low guttural moan rang out through the shack and he was very thankful for the larger cot, as his old one would have surely collapsed under the force. He was making all manner of pleasured noises, biting Demelza’s lower lip, her neck and at one point panting in her ear. “More?” He inquired in one word before reaching between them, teasingly touching softly and licking his fingers afterward, not having tasted her yet and absolutely needing to.
-----------------
The sight of him losing control in such a way, was almost enough for her to lose her mind there and then. If there was only one good thing about tonight, it was she was glad she would not have to feel the repercussions of their rougher-than-normal night in the morning. Not that she minded at all though, as this was the Justin that she knew and loved, endlessly passionate and giving until the very end. Between their heated kisses and the feeling of him holding her wrists down, the wetness between her legs only intensified. She did try to break herself free from his vice like grip for a moment, but soon gave in as he began thrusting into her at pace. “Why? When it feels so bloody good” she responded with a devilish grin on her face.
She had just opened her mouth to respond to him, when she was caught off guard by the feeling of his hand between them, teasing her further. Not being able to hold back any more, she cried out his name as she was hit by an intense orgasm. Clinging onto him like her life depended on it, her nails sinking into his back and ass, as she buried her head in his neck.
-----------------
Justin was easily fucking her hard and fast, it was all too good with Demelza being so wet and the sight of her being held down sent an odd thrill through him, directly down his spine. Their actions were making the cot move and at one point he thought they may actually collapse it. With a laughing groan, Justin leaned down to bite her shoulder, her tattoo of birds on the other side and muttered against her skin, kissing the teeth marks he’d left afterwards “Naughty… naughty girl.”
When he was done playing with her swollen clit, he’d roughly pushed both of her thighs back, opening her wide to his deep pushing. Justin didn’t stop though when he could feel the delicious pain of her nails digging into his back and the sounds she made at the height of ecstasy. He kept fucking her deep and hard, her pulsing muscles hitting all the right spots - it was only a matter of time. Her arms went slightly slack and Justin ducked his head to suck at one of her nipples only to release it with a soft noise, followed by him groaning loudly, repeating her name over and over as he rode out his own climax.
When he was utterly spent, only slight twitches firing off and his ears ringing, he laid his entire body against hers, kissing softly, deeply and only wanting to stay in that moment for as long as they could before they left.
-------
Demi couldn’t help but let out a nervous laugh at the feeling of the cot rocking beneath them. At least if they did break it, they would not be here to deal with trying to fix it come morning. This thought though was soon disturbed by the feeling of Justin gently sinking his teeth into her shoulder before kissing the same spot. The sensation had caught her off guard though and she found herself arching her back, pushing her body against his harder. When Justin called her a naughty girl, she bit her lip slightly, devilish grin crossing her face. “And what are you going to do about it?” She asked defiantly.
While she had encouraged Justin to lose control, this was all far more than she expected, even from him. Not that she was complaining though, as the sight of him losing control was the single most erotic thing she had seen. Even after she had came, he still seemed set on his relentless to drive them both firmly into oblivion. Not being able to control herself any more she relaxed her grip on Justin and threw her head back against the pillows moan loudly, as he continued to draw out her dizzying orgasm further.
When she felt him finally reach his peak, she let out a sigh of relief and closed her eyes, allowing herself to come down from the intense sensations. For a while they laid together intertwined, them both coming down from their highs, trying to catch their breath. When Demi’s was nearly back to normal she lent forward to place a tender kiss on his lips. “I love you so much” she whispered, gently caressing his face with her hand.
-----------------
Justin was breathing hard, holding Demelza and kissing her softly as they both came down from spinning heights. If there was anything he was going to remember, that he wanted to remember, was how she looked just then - flushed, smiling and leaning forward to kiss him with her hand on his cheek, the one that now had the engagement ring on it.
“I love you too. I thought I knew what it was…. But with everything that has happened, everything we know now, I’m quite sure that I didn’t, until now.” Justin rolled them onto their sides, kissing Demi’s palm, then her wrist and they held each other close in the growing dark for a very long time. It seemed they didn’t want to let go just yet, and since it wasn’t a Wednesday, Demi couldn’t stay in his shack like he so desperately wanted her to. Suddenly a touch sad, he buried his head in her neck for a brief moment and inhaled her familiar scent, kissing lightly and feeling her pulse against his lips.
-----
Demelza stared in shock at what Justin had said to her. Of all the sweet and beautiful things, he had ever said to her, this was by far the most incredible of them all. “Oh Justin” she exclaimed, burying her head in his shoulder, desperately clinging onto him like it was their last night on earth….because in reality it was. She lay there for a moment with his head buried in her neck, while her head was buried in his shoulder enjoying some of their last few moments together.
After a short while had passed, she pulled away from him slightly to look him in the face. “I hate to say this, but I think it is time to go” she whispered, watching as the light slowly disappeared from the shack. While it broke her heart to get up and leave, their time had come and if she did not leave soon, then Delphine’s charms would soon see to it.
-----------------
It was true what he had said - he had loved Eliza, but what he had found with Demelza, it surpassed it, even before learning of his first wife’s infidelity. They breathed together in unison, holding each other in the fading light. The knot in Justin’s chest grew when he knew that she would have to go back to her hut, alone, leaving him alone to fight through the night.
“I know,. Just a few more moments?” he pleaded and held onto her a touch tighter, kissing her again and again, their time running out. And Justin had a thought. “Let’s leave now…. I know I won’t be able to sleep without you beside me. Not tonight. We’re both going to be up anyway.” It was a wild thought, but reasonable…. He wouldn’t be able to sleep, not in the slightest.
--------
Demelza felt reluctant to let Justin go, especially knowing that tomorrow would be the last time that they would see each other before walking into the abyss. “Ok, a few more moments” she agreed kissing him back, clinging on to him and not really wanting to let go.
When Justin mentioned about them going now, she felt grateful for the idea, for not having to spend the night on her own contemplating what was about to happen. If they were going to step beyond the barrier, then she would rather they do it now, before either of them had much of a chance to torture themselves further with the thought. “Let’s do it, let’s just go tonight then” she said, taking his hand in hers. “Let’s not waste a moment more, waiting for our future”
-----------------
She felt so soft, so right in his arms, he didn’t want to move. So when she agreed to just enjoy each other for a few moments, he closed his eyes and breathed her in, let his mind wander and really remember how she felt in his arms, as if he could will his future self to recall this at some point.
It was more than relief, what Justin felt when she’d agreed with him. They were the same in a lot of ways, he knew it, and he heaved a heavy sigh of relief knowing he wouldn’t be torturing himself all night, and she wouldn’t be either. “Let’s do it then.” After a long while of embraces, more kisses and further dimming light. They’d both dressed and Justin had taken his father’s lighter with him. It was only a thought that he maybe should leave a note - but really, he’d let his friends know about his daughter, his future life, so they would no-doubt put the pieces together.
When the pair were all wrapped up, protected against the bitter cold, they headed out into the cold. It was a long walk across the ice to where Justin thought they were very close to the border when he turned to face Demelza, her cheeks red from the cold. “I love you…. I will see you soon, I promise. With all my heart I promise.” Then he’d kissed her and leaned his head against her forehead one last time.
--------
The realities of walking through the barrier, of going back to such a dark time in her life, had started to creep up on Demi more and more as they lay there. Remembering how bad things were for her at that time, she clung onto Justin harder, burying her head in his chest, breathing in the smell of him. She only hoped that leaving the island now, especially seeing as she had ended her dependencies on alcohol meant that when she returned to the real world she would be more at peace with herself.
After a few more moments of embraces and kisses, she reluctantly broke apart from him and they dressed in silence. When they were finally both dressed, she took his hand in hers for comfort, as the other clasped her photo album tightly to her chest. If they were going to do this, she needed the constant reminder of why they were doing this, right up to crossing through to the barrier. When Justin stopped half way across the ice and turned to face her, she could almost hear her heart beating in her ears it was beating that hard. Closing her eyes, she laid her forehead against his and allowed herself to find comfort with him for the last time in what would be a long time. “I love you too” she whispered. “Soon you will wake from this like it was a dream, and I will be there looking after you”
-------------
Justin’s heart was hammering triple time. He knew it was freezing but couldn’t feel a thing, he was numb from the inside out except for being able to feel Demelza’s arms wrapped around him. He knew in his time he’d wake up in hospital from the car accident, and that she would be there… but he wouldn’t remember and his heart felt like it was in a vice. They’d kept kissing and holding onto one another, the last kiss never truly being the last until she’d reassured him that she would be there, looking after him.
“I know you will. And in time, I’ll be looking after you as well. I love you with all my heart, this will all be worth it.” He nodded and hugged her one last time, one last true kiss before Justin steeled himself and looked at her in the eyes, resolving not to look anywhere else. “On three, together? “ Seeing her eyes move in a nod, Justin swallowed hard and began to count. “One, two…. “ he kissed her hard again, not being able to resist, holding Demi’s face in his shaking hands…
”...three.”
