A wry smile graced his features, agreeing with Demi that he was never usually subtle - always action pairing with good intentions. Sometimes it backfired on him, but it was usually forgiven. For the most part, when he did open up, the floodgates couldn't be stopped.
In all of the explaining, and Demelza's embrace and kiss to his forehead, he'd found a smile somewhere in there. What he'd had with Dimitri was the first non-heterosexual relationship he'd had with anyone beyond friendship. Justin had always been attracted to 'people' but had not pursued anything until he'd met the young Russian. Yes, he'd been used and lied to, but he had wanted to be with the man. Sometimes it doesn't work out, but Justin thought that he was better for having gone through everything.
He listened to her talk of bravery and opening up, and he couldn't help thinking of that song 'Fools Rush In' and thought that perhaps he may be more like that. Going into something guns blazing, falling hard and fast - it was foolhardy and he knew it. "I never had someone hurt me so badly before, so I can see how you would want to be 'careful' with your feelings afterward."
Letting the memories of the past fade, Justin huffed a laugh and knew he may regret his next words. "Well, the challenge is accepted. I don't rest until I see something through, a very tenacious and hard-working Hufflepuff. I'll be in a shack before you know it and still trying to find small corners of the island where two people could find a quiet moment alone."
