Edward had very much enjoyed the time he had spent with his grown son the last week, enjoying pretty much all the activities he had planned to do with him when he got older, yet sadly apparently managed to do. His son seemed a good hard-working man, with a strong moral compass and this pleased him greatly. While he felt a sadness for this, he couldn’t help but feeling overwhelming pride in the man that Justin had grown up to be.
One of the things that Edward was enjoying most about the week, was the opportunity to meet some of his son’s friends, hear more stories from Justin’s childhood and see him through other eyes. All of his son’s friends had been funny, charming and everything that Edward would have hoped friends of Justin’s would have been. Tonight, he was looking forward to meeting another of Justin’s friends for a spot of dinner. He sensed there was something different with this one though, as Justin had seemed far more nervous about the prospect of them meeting then he had with some of his other female friends.
When an attractive young lady approached the booth, they were sat in and greeted them, Edward couldn’t help but let a smile play across his face. In that moment, he understood very well why Justin seemed so much more apprehensive about meeting her then some of the others. He stood up to greet Demelza, as gentlemanly manners dictated and waited for his son to make introductions.
