Fred's initial good impression of the bloke fluctuated as Lucy spoke. On the one hand, he was Katie and Oliver's kid, so he had to be cool. And Lucy liked him, which only said good things. But marrying Warrington's kid? That was a big mark against his character in Fred's book - unless Warrington Juniorette took after her mother in every single way possible, perhaps, depending on who the poor, wretched woman was. Then again, no matter what he was like, being plastered all over the papers as a cuckold was almost certainly less than he deserved. Not to mention Katie's fury...
Poor man didn't deserve being dropped off the side of the bed, either.
Fred turned his back on that whole situation with an inward wince and set Katie down on her bed, careful not to move her neck too much as he put her on her back. See? That was how you put someone down. Then again, he needed to use the wall as support as he pushed himself back upright, rubbing absentmindedly at the small of his back as he turned 'round to face his niece again.
"I can only imagine. Mama-Katie must be a fearsome creature to behold." And much easier to imagine than Oliver as a father. He took a seat at Katie's bedside and explained, "I need to sit down a 'mo. Want to fetch Macmillan or are you giving me my wand back?"
